Experienced Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic – Light Commercial Vehicles

Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am–12:00pm, with alternate Saturdays off on a rota basis.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic with a minimum of 8 years’ hands-on experience, ideally specialising in light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
The successful candidate will be confident working independently, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. A strong understanding of engine rebuilds and engine timing procedures is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing and general vehicle maintenance.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across all makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
* Perform brake repairs, replacements and maintenance.
* Carry out MOT preparation and remedial repairs.
* Undertake engine repairs, rebuilds and component replacements.
* Perform engine timing belt and timing chain replacements, including accurate timing procedures.
* Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Carry out inspections and identify additional repair or maintenance requirements.
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 8 years’ relevant workshop experience.
* Experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
* Strong practical knowledge of servicing, brakes, MOT repairs and general mechanical work.
* Proven competence in engine rebuilds and engine timing procedures.
* Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
* Reliable, hardworking and committed to producing quality workmanship.
Experience with light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes is highly desirable.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday: 8:00am–5:00pm
* Saturday: 8:00am–12:00pm
* Weekend rota: Alternate Saturdays off, shared with other members of staff.
Salary and Benefits
Wages will be determined according to experience, qualifications and skill level.
