As Dark Stranger headed into the yard yesterday for winter storage, the next phase begins. Since arriving back with us, she has successfully completed her end-of-season sea trials and a dedicated engineer has been appointed to oversee her winter maintenance programme.
From engines and generator to freshwater, waste, electrical and stern gear systems, every element will be serviced, inspected and winterised over the coming months…
and when 2027 arrives, Dark Stranger will be ready to go at the turn of a key for her next adventure.

We’re expecting DALE 40 number two, Seahorse, back with us anytime now!
Our lifting team checked in on her progress on MarineTraffic this afternoon, arriving into Dun Laoghaire from Bangor, Belfast Lough. She left us way back on 16th April, at the start of what has been an incredible season.

We’re looking forward to welcoming her home any day now and catching up with her owner on this year’s adventures.

There’s always something quite special about seeing a DALE return after a summer of exploring.

First DALE back to base this autumn…. 40001 Dark Stranger returning last weekend after a season away cruising Ireland and Scotland. Engineer already been on board for thorough sea trials, check over, with lift next, wash off, into the yard for winter storage and winterise. All ready for service and recommissioning in spring 27, ready to go again.
One hop back from Dun Laoghaire, taking in St David’s Head, Ramsey Sound and Jack’s Sound, with some big tides making for a lively finish to the passage.
