Another return customer back in the workshop, this time with an E91 in need of some much-needed rear-end restoration.

The customer supplied a powder-coated second-hand rear subframe along with new Powerflex differential bushings, and we got to work bringing the rear end back to its best.

As is often the case with E90/E91 models, the scope of the job grew as we dug deeper. Alongside the subframe replacement, we also fitted new drop links, replaced both handbrake cables, and fabricated all new hard brake lines as the originals had deteriorated beyond repair.

While the job turned out to be more extensive than initially planned, the end result is a rear end that's solid, reliable, and future-proofed for many more miles of driving.

The car just undergone a full future proofing service which consisted of timing chain replacement, oil cooler gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, new exhaust flexi, brakes and more. Invoices and pictures of the work all at hand. A lot of car for the money.

F11 lci in for a service recently

Although not as glamorous as some of the big jobs we do here, a simple service is a very important part of maintaining your BMW, these B47s in particular are very sensitive to long oil intervals, luckily this customer is aware of this and keeps the car in tip top shape.

This one received an oil service along with air and pollen filters.

Back on the road, nice and healthy.

Late F30 lci in for timing chain replacement along with auto box service, this one with a B47 under the bonnet.

We replaced the tired original chain with a brand-new genuine IWIS timing chain kit.

Chain kit included:
• Cam, fuel & oil pump chains
• 4 guides + 2 tensioners
• Cam & Fuel pump sprocket
• Oil sprayer, crankshaft & injector seals
• Rocker cover gasket

As part of our timing chain replacement service, we also changed the oil and oil filter.

After we got the car running again, we performed a gearbox service of the 8hp50 using ZF pan and oil.

Back together, fully tested, and now running smooth, quiet, and fault-free.

Quick tutorial on diagnosing a misfire on a 1.6 R53 mini.

Thankfully, this one was just a simple coil pack failure which meant minimum spend for the customer

Another returning customer back in with this lovely BMW 640d 🔧

This one came in needing a few important jobs sorted, starting with seized rear alignment bolts. We replaced both rear top arms along with all 4 rear alignment bolts to get everything moving and adjusted correctly again.

Next up, we replaced all brake dust shields — 3 were already missing and the remaining one wasn’t far behind.

We also carried out a full brake fluid flush, something BMW recommends every 24,000 miles but is often overlooked. Regular maintenance like this is key to keeping your BMW performing at its best.

Lastly, the customer reported an occasional fumes smell inside the cabin. After carrying out a smoke test, we traced the issue to a faulty exhaust clamp — now fully repaired and sorted

Another BMW back on the road and back up to spec.

E92 in for some repairs

Firstly, the dpf was damaged significantly from catching on the ground, snapped bracket, damaged exhaust clamp and dpf cracked in two places, fumes were filling the cabin and the car was low on power. We managed to get this all welded up, and replaced the clamp and bracket.

Car was also suffering with a water damaged headlight module, this was replaced with a good second hand unit at the customers request.
