2017 G31 in for a strange noise on deceleration

This G31 came in with a strange vibration and grinding noise, particularly noticeable whenever there was no load on the drivetrain.

After a quick test drive, it was clear we had an issue within the driveline. We got the car up in the air and quickly found the culprit , a completely perished flex disc (donut) at the rear differential.

A new replacement was fitted straight off the shelf, followed by a thorough road test to make sure everything was running as it should.

✅ Fault diagnosed
✅ New flex disc fitted
✅ Road tested
✅ Back to the customer the same day

Another job diagnosed and repaired without unnecessary parts or hassle.

BMW X4 M Sport — Brake Replacement

Another BMW in with us this week, this time a 2018 X4 for a fresh set of brakes.

We replaced the M Sport front brakes with new discs and pads, then reset the brake service indicator and updated the iDrive service history to keep the maintenance records up to date.

The customer was also advised of some future maintenance work required. Once everything was checked over, the X4 was road tested and is now ready to go. 🔧

G31 520d in for an intake manifold 🔧

This one came in with the engine light on and a noticeable lack of performance.

A quick diagnosis revealed a faulty swirl flap motor, along with a badly clogged intake manifold. The best course of action was to replace the complete unit with a new manifold, seals and motor.

The old manifold was removed, the remaining contact surfaces thoroughly cleaned, and the new unit fitted.

Adaptations reset, everything checked over and a road test completed — now running beautifully again!

BMW 520d in the workshop recently 🔧

This one came to us with a serious death wobble at around 60mph, along with heavy vibration under braking.

After a thorough inspection, we found both track rod ends were completely worn out, and the front tension arms weren't much better. On top of that, the front brake discs were warped, and the rear discs had worn below the minimum thickness.

We carried out:

- Full brake replacement all round
- New front tension arms
- New track rod ends
- Repair to the front parking sensors, as requested by the customer

After a full road test, the death wobble was gone, the braking was smooth again, and the customer drove away happy.

BMW X5 F15 in for some work 🔧

This BMW X5 F15 came to us with a complaint of the rear suspension sagging on the nearside.

After a quick diagnosis, we found one of the rear air suspension airbags was leaking. Over time, the rubber can deteriorate with age, causing it to slowly lose air.

For the customer's peace of mind, we replaced both rear airbags, ensuring a reliable repair rather than just fixing the failed side.

Now it's back on the road, sitting exactly as it should.

A lovely BMW G30 was in with us recently for a set of rear brake pads.

Back on the road in under an hour, with the customer also advised on upcoming servicing to help keep the car in top condition.

This F56 Mini Cooper SD came into the workshop for routine servicing and a snapped bonnet release cable.

The first challenge was getting the bonnet open! Once we had access, we replaced the broken cable with a new genuine-quality part before carrying out the scheduled service.

This Mini received:
- Fresh engine oil and oil filter
- New air filter
- New fuel filter
- Digital service history updated on iDrive

One of our own cars is finally getting a bit of well-deserved TLC.

This one is having a new set of front torsion arms fitted. It's a very common issue on these cars, and once they start to wear, they produce an unpleasant screeching noise that definitely isn't ideal.

With the new arms fitted and a fresh oil service completed, it's ready to get back on the road.

This BMW has now covered over 250,000 miles, proving that with the right maintenance and regular servicing, these cars are more than capable of going the distance.

BMW E92 320d – In for some major maintenance 🔧

We've been looking after this E92 for a number of years now, and around 100,000 miles ago we fitted a timing chain kit. It's now back with us for another one, giving the owner added peace of mind for many more miles.
