THE NOD | SALTY’S X-ADV — ONE YEAR, 22,000 MILES
A special one for The Nod today.
Exactly 12 months after Salty collected his Honda X-ADV from Newcastle Motorcycles, he decided there was only really one way to mark the occasion — take it out for a 400-mile ride. 😎
The weather apparently decided to celebrate the anniversary too… with rain. Lots of it!
The route took in Newcastleton, Langholm Moor, Wee Crook, Dunbar, Gifford, Duns, Kelso, Bonchester Bridge, Kielder, Rothbury and Alnwick before one final loop brought the X-ADV home with 22,000 miles showing exactly.
And after a year of being very definitely used as intended:
12 months
22,000 miles
3 oil changes
5 rear tyres
4 front tyres
Second chain, still on the original sprockets and brake pads
0 mechanical issues
Salty’s first X-ADV covered 13,000 miles in its first year before being sold on its first birthday.
This one’s staying. 🤙
Proper miles, proper weather and a bike that’s clearly become part of the adventures rather than simply the way of getting to them.
