We can now carry out ECU tuning on a wider range of newer BMW models fitted with Bosch DDE8 and DME8 ECUs. 🔧💻

Thanks to the latest update to our tuning equipment, these ECUs can now be accessed directly in BENCH mode, with no mail-in unlock required.

Supported ECUs include:

✅ Bosch MD1CP032
✅ Bosch MD1CS001
✅ Bosch MG1CS024
✅ Bosch MG1CS049
✅ Bosch MG1CS201

This means less waiting around, no sending your ECU away and a much more straightforward tuning process.

🔧 Vehicle Diagnostics – What To Expect At JMP 🔧

At JMP Automotive / JMP Performance, we often get asked:

“Can you just plug it in and tell me what’s wrong?”

The honest answer is: sometimes a fault is simple, but proper diagnostics is usually much more than just reading a fault code.

A fault code gives us a starting point, not always the final answer.

When we carry out diagnostics, we may check:

✅ Fault codes
✅ Live data readings
✅ Sensor values
✅ Wiring and connections
✅ Pressure readings
✅ Temperature readings
✅ Battery and charging system
✅ Mechanical faults
✅ Previous repairs or poor workmanship

A fault code may point towards one part, but the real issue could be wiring, low voltage, a blocked pipe, a boost leak, an EGR fault, a DPF issue, or another fault causing that part to read incorrectly.

That’s why we diagnose properly before replacing parts.

⏱️ Clear time frames, no runaway diagnostic bills

At JMP, we will notify the customer after the first hour of diagnostics with our findings so far.

If more diagnostic time is needed, we will explain what we need to test next, why it needs doing, and agree a clear time frame before carrying on.
