Have you seen the RNLI's lifesaving advice in store this summer?

We've been proud to share the RNLI's lifesaving Float to Live advice on screens across our bp retail sites – helping millions of people heading to the coast this summer know what to do if they find themselves in difficulty in the water.

With most accidental drownings tragically happening in August, it’s an important time to know the simple steps. If you get into trouble in the water: tilt your head back with your ears submerged, relax and control your breathing, and move your hands and legs to help you stay afloat. Your legs may sink – that's OK, everyone floats differently.

It's a small piece of advice that could save a life. Next time you're filling up, take a look and share it with the people you love.

Our relationship with the RNLI goes back more than 50 years, and we're proud to keep supporting their vital work today.

bp has been an important part of the UK for over 100 years, and we’re proud to play a significant role in the country’s economy.

Did you know that in 2025 alone, according to analysis by Oxford Economics, bp spent £4.1bn with suppliers in the UK across a variety of sectors, £860 million of which was spent with the manufacturing sector alone.

One of the manufacturing businesses we work with, with a base in the East of England, is JDR Cable Systems, part of TFKable Group.

For over 20 years, JDR Cables has engineered and manufactured high-quality subsea cables and connections for bp’s North Sea operations – it’s just one of many stories of how bp is working with manufacturing businesses with operations across the UK.

From north to south, east to west, we’re proud that bp’s retail sites span the entire length and breadth of the UK and help support the UK’s supply chain all across the country.

Don’t just take our word for it. To give one example, in Yorkshire and The Humber, where fuel, gas and bitumen logistics specialist Oxalis Logistics UK is based, we spent £170 million in 2025 with local businesses*.

Specialist suppliers like Oxalis play a vital role in helping bp to serve customers nationwide.
👇 Hear more about our work with Oxalis below.

*Based on analysis and estimates by Oxford Economics. Regional procurement expenditure is allocated according to the supplier postcode recorded in bp’s procurement data.

Every day, Felix, a charity redistributing surplus food, helps more food to reach people who need it most. They now support 1.5 million people, reaching 99% of UK postcodes and helping to ensure good food doesn’t go to waste.

We’re pleased to continue our partnership with Felix through flexible, multi-year funding for their core operations. In its first year, that support could help to enable the equivalent of 10 million meals to reach vulnerable children and their families.

This next phase builds on our work together since 2022, including support for fresh and frozen food capacity, fuel costs, and Felix’s South London depot and Food Factory.

Felix is doing vital work in communities across the UK, and we’re glad to support them as they continue to grow their reach and impact.

bp has been part of the UK for more than a century, and we continue to play an important role in the economy today.

The annual Volunteers’ Week in the UK may have just passed, but the impact of giving back can last much longer.

Volunteering has long been part of how we support the communities where we operate – not as a tick‑box exercise, but through our people wanting to share their skills, energy and efforts for causes that matter locally.

Across the UK, colleagues regularly give their time to local causes – from mentoring young people to trying to tackle food waste and working to help restore natural habitats. Together, these individual efforts help to support the efforts of multiple projects and organisations and create lasting local value.

Behind every volunteering statistic is a person choosing to show up.

Today, Black Friday, marks the start of the busiest shopping season. Sadly, many retail workers face rising levels of abuse and intimidation during this time.

With thousands of colleagues working across our retail sites, we’re proud to support the Retail Trust’s Let’s Respect Retail campaign.

Change doesn’t have to be big – it starts with the small things: a hello, a thank you, a smile. When we see each other, we treat each other better. Let’s make shopping positive for everyone. Join us and show respect for those who keep retail moving.
