Aberedw Hill, the trig point, overlooking Builth, (1481 ft) that our family have called the Kings for generations because of the tumuli! A slightly different route up, past Ffynnonau. It just takes your breath away, absolute silence, just the sighing of the wind in the heather.

You can visit this wonderful reserve at any time, these are special, guided days.

Come and witness the remarkable Atlantic salmon return to their spawning grounds on the River Marteg here at Gilfach Nature Reserve.
🐟 Monday 2nd November and Saturday 7th November, 10am to 12pm
We’ll meet at the Gilfach Visitor Centre for a short talk on the Atlantic salmon and their extraordinary migration to their spawning grounds. We’ll then walk down to the riverside salmon platform, where we hope to see leaping salmon and other wildlife.

October, much like March, is going out like a lion! But with the blustery showers come moments of beauty, the stream behind the cottage is running again, first time in some months. The rainbows are picture perfect and the squalls dramatic but when the sun sneaks through, the colours are spectacular. Wellie boot weather, coats on, adventures to be had, drying room awaits, hot chocolate and crumpets time of year!!
