ON SITE // RECOMISSIONING, PRE-MOT CHECKS & REGISTRATION

A Returning customer, who has a fun but let’s say eclectic choice of vehicles got in touch to see if I can get involved with getting his Hummer H2 into a fit state to use on the UK, he bought it in person out in the USA and had it shipped back.

Since the weather here in the midlands has become monsoon season so the first job is to try to make it water tight going into autumn. Let’s face it, it’s not fitting in the average UK garage 😂

Properly cool, awesome colour and massive lump up front - this will be hugely eye catching when it rumbles through rural Leicestershire.

Micra K13 // Right, Guys, Look, Listen…

I’ve been copping some abuse on here for sharing some Porsche content, let’s bring that back down to earth - here is a perfect example of a little city run about that needs our help desperately.

This has done 40k miles, no majors on MOTs and let’s face it, left a couple more years will need to be scrapped.

These cars are the definition of a ‘Cockroach car’ that is said in an endearing way; they cannot be killed, they just don’t die - what car delivers your takeaway? Likely a micra!

They’re an insanely reliable car, this 3 cylinder runs on I can only presume is air as I cannot get it to drop down the fuel gauge, parts are cheap BUT if you don’t prioritise protecting them on the underside, that’s all pretty useless.

Budget underside resto quoted and parts ordered. This car will live on several hundred thousand miles 🤌🏼

Mini Cooper S // R53 Supercharged.

Quorn Sports & Classics Ltd kindly leant me this little go-kart whilst my 996 C4S was having a presale Borescope (went well!)
Having never driven one it certainly put a smile on my face. I believe it’s been lightly fettled with polybushing, backbox, reduced supercharger pulley and some visual tweaks; JCW Aero, split rims and Recaro seats.
I don’t know allot about this platform but very worthy of a share on here - what an awesome example of how fun a little 00’s hothatch can be!

Can you fit some Retro spotlights? “Yea!, where do you want them?”

Some classic Hella spotlights installed on this 169 panda ready for those wet single track roads on dark winters nights. Fun little task and one I enjoyed doing as neat as possible… no messy wires in the engine bay, no fire starting wiring and no splicing into factory looms.

Not everyone will like this but I think it looks pretty fun.

WORKSHOP PROCESS // Mechanical ‘bits’ Panda 100HP

Loads of really fun projects to be working through at the moment, some paused for parts, some nearly complete and the daily jobs in and out at a faster pace.

Today we talked on this one:

- Front shocks, top mounts, wishbones and hardware replacement (the shocks were reuseable but unfortunately someone had gunned the retaining bolt up so tight that it split the thread trying to undo it!!)

- Clutch system overhaul: clutch slave removed, reservoir removed and ultrasonic cleaned & refit, pressure flushed, newel bodied clutch slave replacement fit and bled. Back to a decent pedal feel and no squeaking -
The fluid that came out of it was absolutely rank!

If you need any routine servicing or mechanical work we can get that in sooner than our roughly 3 month restoration waiting list.

My longest owned ‘car’ ? 😆 It’s worth nothing but makes me smile everytime I take the cover off it and strike up the little 1242cc 16v.

At around 740kg, it shifts 💨
