K1200LT radio conversion module, by G6FGO.

With the number of enquiries that I am still getting, I have decided to build another ten. The Mk5 board has been modified because some of the components are getting difficult to source, so I have included additional device footprints. Pricing will be the same as previous versions, no increase.

It will take four weeks or so before the first ones are ready, but pre-orders can be accepted immediately.

Basic kit £139 plus postage, Full plug and play kit £199 including worldwide post.

News for G6FGO ibus radio conversion kit owners...

After extensive testing and development, there is a new software version available, free of charge as always. This software version is of interest mostly to ALPINE radio users who are using the IR blaster head to control it. Also to those considering a new radio from Kenwood (although not a patch on the Alpine!)

Changes in this version:

*Alpine radios can now be controlled by a hard connection to the REM socket on the back of the radio and the blaster eye can be discarded.

*Added Kenwood latest radios which use their own custom control protocols. Tested with:

KDC-740DAB
KDC-760DAB

*Some performance tweaks.

There is some less good news... I am down to the last five modules available. It is unlikely that there will be any more once these are sold, unless I get a minimum of ten advance orders, due to the cost of building them.

Support will of course continue at the same standard, regardless.

After nearly 40 years in business, we have now retired. The success of the business is purely due to the loyalty and goodwill of our thousands of wonderful customers and to those people I offer my unlimited gratitude, It wouldn't have been possible to build such a thriving business without you and I regret that I am unable to suggest a contractor who can look after your future needs.

The shop premises have been cleared and have now been taken over by a high quality, privately owned pet supplies business called Love2Pets Ltd, who have moved from smaller premises in Morelands.

Please give them a try; you will get personal attention, good value for money and a wide range of wholesome pet foods. The telephone number is still 01452-505500 and open six days a week.

You can find them on Facebook here:

I have just found out that my domain classicmicrocars.com is not redirecting as it should and probably hasn't for a couple of months. I have no idea why but I have emailed the hosts to sort it out. In the meantime, you can use https://www/ajlelectronics.co.uk

A project car for sale. Late model SE6b 2.8 manual gearbox, manual steering and with a galvanised chassis.

The car was driven here but has been standing now about 3 years. However, it does run and drive. Interior not too bad, paintwork not good. Headlight trim is with it, just not fitted.

Historic registered 1981 Scimitar GTE SE6b for sale £4500 as is, no offers and cash preferred. Collection fom Gloucester or delivery can be arranged:

These are slightly older photographs of when it came into my possession after it had been sitting for a number of years. The previous owner had done a number of jobs but it was still requiring to be made roadworthy, which has now been done.

* The chassis is in good order, rear diagonals look like they have been strengthened in the past.

* The engine is a Cologne 2.8 with a Weber carburettor conversion.

* Power assisted steering, working with no slop and no leaks. Aftermarket steering wheel fitted.

* It has a manual 3 rod, four speed gearbox with overdrive which is in good order. The tailshaft oil seal has been replaced and the oil topped up.

* The rear axle has been topped up.

* Gearstick assembly has been refurbished with new bushes.

* A set of FOUR Middlebridge wheels are fitted with good tyres (one new) and fitted with printed wheel centres like the original NLA types. (Spare is a Dunlop, not pictured).

* The interior has been refurbished in the recent past, it is now a chocolate brown in good order bar one (bleached?) spot on the passenger squab.

* There is a heated windscreen fitted with an excellent seal, although it isn't connected.

* An original type radio cassette player is fitted, which works reasonably well, although it is MW/LW only. (Philips 460/80) for which I have a service manual.

* The brakes have been serviced and it now has a brand new master cylinder and reservoir, a pair of Bigg Red refurbished calipers. a pair of new rear slave cylinders and a number of hard lines replaced.

* Cooling system has been flushed and will have fresh antifreeze in it before sale.

* Temperature gauge sender has been replaced.

* Voltage regulator has been replaced.

* Inertia reel rear seat belts have been fitted in the past.

* The headlining looks so good, I suspect that it has been replaced.

Known issues remaining to be improved:

Rear hatch doesn't latch. It appears to be a replacement and probably needs adjusting.
Fuel tank sender float seems stuck. I have put in half a tank of fuel and it hasn't moved. It may do of course later with enough fuel in it.
Front spoiler has been repaired structurally and is now strong. It needs shaping and painting to finish it. Paint to match supplied.
Two areas at the roof rear to be repaired.
Radio speakers "tizzing" so they could be replaced.
Passenger door needs adjusting to stop it catching at the leading edge.
Wiper arms and blades past their best but do the job required of them.
Windscreen appears to have a crack at the bottom offside. This is arc shaped and so will go no further.
Dashtop as always is warped.
The Weber has had a "manual" conversion. As always with them there is no fast idle on choke.
The glovebox liner appears to be missing.
