Historic registered 1981 Scimitar GTE SE6b for sale £4500 as is, no offers and cash preferred. Collection fom Gloucester or delivery can be arranged:
These are slightly older photographs of when it came into my possession after it had been sitting for a number of years. The previous owner had done a number of jobs but it was still requiring to be made roadworthy, which has now been done.
* The chassis is in good order, rear diagonals look like they have been strengthened in the past.
* The engine is a Cologne 2.8 with a Weber carburettor conversion.
* Power assisted steering, working with no slop and no leaks. Aftermarket steering wheel fitted.
* It has a manual 3 rod, four speed gearbox with overdrive which is in good order. The tailshaft oil seal has been replaced and the oil topped up.
* The rear axle has been topped up.
* Gearstick assembly has been refurbished with new bushes.
* A set of FOUR Middlebridge wheels are fitted with good tyres (one new) and fitted with printed wheel centres like the original NLA types. (Spare is a Dunlop, not pictured).
* The interior has been refurbished in the recent past, it is now a chocolate brown in good order bar one (bleached?) spot on the passenger squab.
* There is a heated windscreen fitted with an excellent seal, although it isn't connected.
* An original type radio cassette player is fitted, which works reasonably well, although it is MW/LW only. (Philips 460/80) for which I have a service manual.
* The brakes have been serviced and it now has a brand new master cylinder and reservoir, a pair of Bigg Red refurbished calipers. a pair of new rear slave cylinders and a number of hard lines replaced.
* Cooling system has been flushed and will have fresh antifreeze in it before sale.
* Temperature gauge sender has been replaced.
* Voltage regulator has been replaced.
* Inertia reel rear seat belts have been fitted in the past.
* The headlining looks so good, I suspect that it has been replaced.
Known issues remaining to be improved:
Rear hatch doesn't latch. It appears to be a replacement and probably needs adjusting.
Fuel tank sender float seems stuck. I have put in half a tank of fuel and it hasn't moved. It may do of course later with enough fuel in it.
Front spoiler has been repaired structurally and is now strong. It needs shaping and painting to finish it. Paint to match supplied.
Two areas at the roof rear to be repaired.
Radio speakers "tizzing" so they could be replaced.
Passenger door needs adjusting to stop it catching at the leading edge.
Wiper arms and blades past their best but do the job required of them.
Windscreen appears to have a crack at the bottom offside. This is arc shaped and so will go no further.
Dashtop as always is warped.
The Weber has had a "manual" conversion. As always with them there is no fast idle on choke.
The glovebox liner appears to be missing.
