🛞 TYRE SAFETY TIP TUESDAY 🚗
When did you last check your tyre pressures?

It’s one of those little jobs that’s easy to forget, but keeping your tyres correctly inflated can make a real difference every time you get behind the wheel.

Driving with the wrong tyre pressure can:

⚠️ Affect your car’s handling and braking
🛞 Cause uneven or premature tyre wear
⛽ Reduce fuel efficiency
🚗 Make your tyres work harder than they need to

Our Tuesday tip: Check your tyre pressures regularly and always before a long journey. Remember to check them when the tyres are cold and use the pressure recommended for your vehicle – you’ll usually find it in your handbook, inside the fuel flap or on the driver’s door frame.

And don’t forget the spare if your car has one!

⛽️Why is the government reconsidering its commitment to the 2030 petrol and diesel car ban? Labour ministers are now openly discussing "softer" net-zero rules, putting affordability for drivers and businesses first. This could mean big changes for what cars are available in showrooms.

🚘The Department for Transport is set to consult on tweaking the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate. If these changes happen, you might see more new petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars on sale closer to 2030 than originally planned.

Your tyres don’t know when your MOT is due! 😄

They’re the only part of your car actually touching the road, so keeping an eye on them all year round is important for your safety.

🛞 Check your tread depth
💨 Keep an eye on tyre pressures
👀 Look for cracks, bulges or damage
⚠️ Watch out for uneven wear

And remember, the legal minimum tyre tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre.
