🚗 ANOTHER ECU RESCUE – FORD 1.5 TDCI (EDC17C70)! 🚗

This time we received an ECU with a failed injector driver for 3 injectors. The customer had two options: expensive repair of the original unit or cloning the ECU. They chose the latter – and it paid off! ✅

But here's the thing – we didn't clone it onto the same part number. The original ECU number was significantly more expensive. Instead, we sourced a cheaper unit with a different part number – and cloned the software onto it.

How? Because we know which ECUs are truly compatible. Same HW, same internals – just a different label. The customer saved a lot of money, and after installing the cloned unit, the car came back to life – no issues, no errors, no problems. 💪

Another Transit Custom just came into our workshop with an AdBlue system fault – only 480 miles left before startup lockout. For us, that's no big deal – max 1 hour job and Van is back on the road, good as new! 💪

🚐 ANOTHER RECOVERY TRUCK ARRIVED AT OUR WORKSHOP! 🚐

This time it brought us a Vauxhall Vivaro 1.6d. 😅 Replacing the radiator meant stripping down the entire front end – quite a job, but we got it done! 🔧💪

🚨 The real challenge, however, was... the noise. The customer was extremely annoyed by a very loud "BEEP" every time the ignition was turned on. This isn't the first time we've seen this – the culprit was an improperly deactivated AdBlue system.

✔️ A quick software fix, an update to the map, and the car was freed from that annoying sound. Peace and quiet at last! 🔇😉

Previous garages"fixes" included addressing an AdBlue issue and replacing the DPF with a new Chinese aftermarket part. Unfortunately, they didn't fix the root cause. That cause turned out to be the turbo. The result? After a few weeks, the new DPF was clogged again.

When the car arrived at our shop, we started with a professional diagnosis. The customer's story and our experience tell us one thing: in most cases, there's a specific reason why the DPF gets clogged. This time was no different.

What did we do?

✅ Turbo replacement – removing the root cause of the clogged DPF

🚐Nice Volkswagen Caddy 2.0 TDI – a seemingly standard repair, but…

This one came to us with a serious AdBlue system fault – 600 miles limit until engine start block. 🛑

🚨The car had been tuned before, so we went straight to BENCH mode – ECU out on the table.

🔍 What did we find? The previous tuning looked… really good. No "Chep patches", no generic files. Most likely done by a truly professional company.

✅ Our solution: we applied AdBlue LifeTimeRepair, leaving the engine modification untouched. We ran dyno tests – everything works perfectly. The car went back to the customer fully functional with no limits.

📉 And now the hard truth:
Just this week, we've had 5 corrections after mobile maps – smoky engines, fault codes, lack of power, DPF/EGR issues. Customers complain that "the tuning was cheap." In the end, they still come to us – but with a double bill.

💡 Don't get fooled by "a map done on a parking lot."

🛑 TWO FORDS, SAME PROBLEM – BUT ONE CAME BACK, THE OTHER BARELY SURVIVED 🛑

This time we're looking at two Ford Connect 1.5 TDCi vans – both with the typical "illness" of our times: the AdBlue system.

➡️ First one (mileage ~15,000 miles):
Classic – AdBlue failure. We carried out an AdBlue system repair + speed limiter removal (speed limiter off). The van is back on the road like new.

➡️ Second one (mileage ~75,000 miles):
This one got the full package 💥
✔ Turbo damaged → clogged DPF → oil in exhaust
✔ NoX Sensors failed
✔ AdBlue – completely shot

Scope of repair: new turbo, AdBlue repair, DPF and EGR overhaul. It was a tough fight, but the van will be back on the road soon.

📌 And here's the kicker – AT THE SAME TIME we also got a Citroen Berlingo 1.5 (~65,000 miles). Same story – turbo gone. This is unfortunately one of the weakest points of this engine, and it often leads to a cascade of very expensive repairs.

⚠️ The 1.5 TDCi (BlueHDi / DV5) engine – the list of problems is long.

Found in: Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, Toyota, Opel, Mercedes and many others.

Our advice (preventative maintenance):
👉 If you drive this engine – regular mechanic visits and diagnostics are essential. You can avoid several costly failures before they happen.
