Armthorpe - Electric bike seized

Officers were travelling along Beech Road on Friday night when they saw this E-bike travelling towards them. As the rider approached the Police vehicle he took to the path, parked up and entered the shop to buy his Friday night beers.

Officers examined the bike whilst the rider perused the selection of alcohol on offer, before leaving the shop with a confused look on his face when Officers were stood with his bike.

The bike has a throttle which when pressed allowed the bike to travel 56kmph without a single push of a pedal in sight.
The rider looked even more confused when we explained the bike was classed as a motorbike and would ned to be road registered and insured.

The rider was sent on his way on foot, and the bike was seized. At least he had a a bag full of beers to cheer himself up.
