Recently I had a standards check and grading as I’ve been fully qualified for just over 18months.
Happy to share that I passed and came away with an “A” pass.

As a driving instructor we are monitored constantly to make sure our standards don’t slip and above most make sure we are teaching safe driving practices.

Without the continued support from Ian Lavell and the qualify team I’m not sure I’d be where I am the now. Have the team and the years of experience is invaluable to me as I’m always looking for improve and gain knowledge for experience, talking with other instructors and training days.

Possibly the 1st time I’ve ever had an A result 🤣

Taking the plunge to push myself to make a career change has been a game changer for myself and my family. Best decision I’ve ever made ❤️
I wouldn’t say it was an easy journey as I’d just became a 1st time dad, my own dad had taken unwell and passed away before he could see me fully qualify and juggling training and teaching while working a full time and family life.

Left school to be a plumber, hated it! Ended up a baker and part time roofer, then went back to plumbing as a labourer, back to baking and then retrained as a driver instructor. If I can do it anyone can 🫶🏻

Bit late with this post but Megan Oliver passed her driving test on Monday in Ayr after getting a last minute cancellation!
Megan is a little super star and you can also find her on Spotify as she’s a bit of a rockstar!!

Abbie Millar you wee star passing your driving test 1st thing in Castle Douglas.
Abbie had the unfortunate bad luck of her original test being cancelled and rescheduled for today.
The only problem we faced was I’m currently in Tenerife so step up my knight in shining armour Ian Lavell who stepped in to take Abbie to test for me.
Also a huge thank you to KSM Valeting for having the car spotless for test!

I think we both proved each other wrong Abbie I said you’d pass your test no bother which you did with 2 minors and maybe I proved I’m not that bad instructor after all 😜🤣

Before the rain came this afternoon Kirstie Benson passed her driving test while the sun was out with 3 minor driving faults.
It’s been an absolute pleasure and a big thanks to dad Derek for all the private practice.
It wasn’t straight forward as Kirstie’s original test date was cancelled then moved to when she me had started Uni but she managed to get a cancellation test sooner but it still meant we hadn’t had a driving lesson in 2/3 weeks before her test!
Well done again Kirstie 😀

Diary is well and truly open for 2027 and filling up fast for the start of the year.
Both manual and automatic lesson available covering Castle Douglas and immediate surrounding areas. 🚗😀

Camera shy Darren Mulholland passed his driving test on Thursday with 2 minor driving faults.

Darren had previously failed his test 3 times previously over the years with nerves playing a huge part in the reason.

Together we worked on Darren realising when never were creeping in which would maybe led him to driving faster than he normally would.
Darren managed to control his nerves lesson after lesson to eventually achieving his goal of passing.

Dead easy to teach and listened most of the time in his own words 🤣

Thanks for Darren and Dutch for trusting in me to get the job done

The things you do to keep your pupils happy!
Massive well done to Charlotte McIntyre for passing her driving test today!
There’s been highs and lows as this was Charlottes 2nd attempt at her test. Nerves played a huge part in both tests but today you managed to keep calm and passed with 4 minor driving faults.
Big thank you to mum Tracey and Dad Stuart for all their private practice!
Florida booked this morning and passing your driving test as well! That’s what I call an epic Tuesday 😀🇺🇸✈️

I’m fully booked up for this year but my diary is open for 2027!
