⚠️ TIMING BELT PROBLEMS? DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS! 🔧

A timing belt can sometimes fail without much warning, but possible symptoms include:

🔊 Ticking or unusual engine noises
🚗 Difficulty starting or failure to start
⚠️ Engine misfiring or running rough
📉 Loss of engine power
🛢️ Oil leaking around the timing belt area

If a timing belt breaks, it can cause major internal engine damage and a very expensive repair.

⏰ Don’t wait for it to fail — keep up with your vehicle’s timing belt interval.

🚗🔧 BRAKES BINDING? IT COULD MEAN AN MOT FAILURE!

Brakes can bind for several reasons, including seized calipers, sticking brake pads, seized sliders, handbrake mechanisms or corroded components.

A binding brake can cause excessive heat, uneven braking and premature wear, and if the brake efficiency is affected, it can result in an MOT failure.

🛑 If your vehicle feels like it’s being held back, pulls to one side, or you notice a burning smell from a wheel, get it checked.

Don’t ignore your brakes — they’re too important! 🔧

📞 Think your brakes might be binding? Give Bryan Swales Auto Repairs a call — we’re happy to help get you safely back on the road!

🚗🔧 OIL CHANGE OR INSPECTION SERVICE — WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

On many VAG cars (VW, Audi, SEAT & Škoda), these are two different service types.

🛢️ Oil Change Service – focuses mainly on replacing the engine oil and oil filter, along with the relevant service checks.

🔍 Inspection Service – is a more comprehensive service, including additional checks and maintenance items depending on the vehicle and service schedule.

It’s important to have the correct service carried out at the correct interval — an oil change isn’t always a substitute for an inspection service.

📞 Not sure which service your VAG car needs? Give Bryan Swales Auto Repairs a call and we can check for you.

🚗⚙️ DSG & Haldex Servicing for VAG Vehicles ⚙️🚗

If you drive a VW, Audi, SEAT, or Škoda, regular DSG gearbox and Haldex system servicing is essential to keep your car performing at its best.

🔧 DSG services help ensure smooth gear changes, protect internal components, and prevent costly gearbox repairs.
🔩 Haldex services keep your 4WD system working properly, maintaining traction, stability, and safety—especially in poor driving conditions.

These systems require specialist oils, filters, and correct service intervals—skipping them can lead to warning lights, jerky driving, or even system failure.

📅 If your VAG vehicle is due (or overdue) for a DSG or Haldex service, get in touch and book in with us today for expert care and peace of mind.

⚠️ WHY HAVE MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON? 🚗

Seeing several warning lights appear on your dashboard at once can be worrying — but it doesn’t necessarily mean several separate things have failed.

Modern vehicles have many systems that communicate with each other, so one underlying fault can trigger multiple warning lights.

🔧 That’s why proper diagnosis is important. Instead of simply replacing parts, we can carry out a full diagnostic scan and investigation to identify the root cause.

💡 Don’t guess what the warning lights mean — diagnose the problem properly!
