A Horsebox we serviced recently which needed rectifying from whoever done it previously 🤦‍♂️ Front axle brake shoes fitted upside down- meaning they didnt work at all, Wheel bolt missing, and the hub nuts werent secured properly after refitting meaning a risk of them undoing themselves! It amazes me the standard of work can be so low especially when horses are involved!
Needless to say we rectified all the above issues. Got the brakes setup properly, fresh tyres, new wheel bearings, new breakaway cable, Re wired the lights and even replaced all the emergency releases for the interior breast bars incase you need to unload the horse fast as these were all rusted- replaced with stainless steel to prevent future issues!

HB506 in for a service today. All brakes cleaned, greased and adjusted correctly including brake cables.
Even if your brakes feel ok it is important to remove the hubs and check, we found a broken brake pad retaining spring- causing the brake to bind and not work as it should.
Also all 4 wheel bearings had lost their grease ( they are sealed bearings) so they were all replaced too.
Light check, general check of the trailer and all moving parts, returned to the customer in the same day!

Here are some of the jobs weve done recently. All trailers serviced. Local scout group box in for tyres, new replacement marker light and wiring. 20ft flatbed- customer asked us to fabricate some spare wheel brackets to free up bed space.
Bockmann horsebox, full set of tyres, we also found a broken brake cable.
Brian james tiltbed with well worn out shoes- customer supplied the shoes, we fitted them and adjusted them to operate efficiently.
HB510 serviced. New set of tyres, rear top door hinge refixed.

A good customer of ours requested an LM146 with caged sides, 2024 model with nearly a ÂŁ2000 saving from new! We didnt have one in stock but managed to find one extremely quickly. A busy week on horsebox’s!
HB505 in for a full set of brake shoes/cables and full set of tyres
HB505 Serviced ready for sale, defective brake shoe replaced due to being parked up with minimal use
HB510 Serviced, all brake adjusters were seized- stripped cleaned and greased. Will be rebooked for a set of brake shoes at the customers convenience.
HB511 Serviced. Found to have a binding brake due to a siezed brake cable which caused premature wear. Brake cable replaced and brake shoe replaced with a spare used one as the customer was happy with this soloution to save a few pennies until we replace the full set.

Its important to get your trailer serviced/checked annually even if you dont use it often- brake shoes can detach themselves from lack of use and you wont tell unless the hubs are taken off.

HB505 came to us for a service. Upon inspection it had badly deteriorated brake shoes and perished tyres. A full set of brake shoes and cables fitted along with a new set of tyres, new breakaway cable and a couple light lenses. Now the customer can transport her horse safely! We had a Renault horsebox in over the bank holiday weekend for a side loading ramp replacement due to the wood rotting and going soft. Whole side ramp removed, a new sheet of wood fitted, rubber lining and trim re fastened, along with a water proof coating around the outside edge of the wood to prevent future water ingress. We had a call out to recover this old Tipper trailer because the wheel bearing had failed and got extremely hot. Once back in our workshop for a service it turns out the brake shoes were also non existent!
New list of parts including wheel bearings, Brake shoes and all moving parts, Brake cables, Hitch gator, Emergency brake cable and the trailer was given back to the customer in a much improved safer condition.
