The Caterham Motorsport Seven 310R Championship joined the support bill of the British Touring Car Championship for the first time this weekend as the series headed to Brands Hatch for Round 2 of the 2026 season.
With a huge crowd of nearly 20,000 spectators expected across the weekend, it was a fantastic opportunity for our drivers to line up on an impressive 32-car grid and showcase exactly what Caterham racing is all about — close, competitive, wheel-to-wheel action.
The team were delighted to welcome Richard Coope to the line-up in his striking ZeroPath liveried car. Richard immediately settled into the championship well, delivering three strong top-10 finishes in the Am class. Son Will is also set to join the team at Spa-Francorchamps and we’re already looking forward to seeing how the family rivalry unfolds on track!
James Emson was outstanding battling right at the sharp end of the grid in what was undoubtedly one of the strongest drives we have seen in quite some time. His pace, racecraft, and determination throughout Race 1 were exceptional, ultimately bringing home silverware for the team with a superb 2nd place finish in the Am class and 6th overall. Unfortunately, a heavy incident in Race 2 brought his weekend to an early end, leaving him sidelined for the remainder of the event.
Peter Mott showed strong pace throughout the weekend, qualifying well and securing two top-five finishes. Sadly, a dislodged nosecone in Race 3 forced an unscheduled pit stop to remove it, dropping him to the back of the field despite another promising drive.
It was also a pleasure to welcome reigning Am class champion Harvey Lawrence back to the grid for a one-off appearance. Harvey immediately found his rhythm again, delivering three competitive top-10 finishes across the weekend.
Scott Darling stepped into son Louis’ car following Louis’ move up to CSCUK and, despite limited testing beforehand, quickly got up to speed and firmly into the heart of the racing pack.
After two busy back-to-back race weekends, we now have a short break before heading to Spa-Francorchamps for one of the highlights of the 2026 season. With a huge team entry and one of the best circuits in the world ahead of us, it promises to be a very special weekend.
If you are interested in joining the team or would like to discuss driver support for the remainder of the 2026 season, we now have very limited availability remaining across our race programmes. Please feel free to get in touch with the team to discuss how we can support your Caterham racing journey.
