Well dam and blast what a frustrating day yesterday was.

We visited Kemble airfield for the Bath Motor Club spring autosolo for the 3rd round of the Bristol MX5 Challenge

My fait was sealed after the first test by dropping 5 seconds from the lead driver Dave Greenslade then i continued to over drive for the rest of the day trying to scramble back the lost time picking up another wrong test and two cone’s on my third run costing me another 10 seconds in penalty’s.

Auto solo’s are all about consistency and keeping it clean you get 3 runs at 4 corses over the day with your best 2 runs counting towards your overall score at the end of the day so it can be a cruel game when you make too many mistakes 🥺

It’s official 1st Place ! 🎉🛻💨

Bring on the 2023 season let’s see if I can retain 1st Place 💪🏻

Such a amazing day yesterday with Bristol Motor Club competing in the final race of the season in the Bristol MX5 Challenge - mx5challenge.co.uk
It’s been such a close season between me and Pekka Tulokas competing to win class B ( mx5 models nc )

Pekka with 6 wins me with 5 wins if I win the great Westurn sprint I would go down to a tie break situation meaning I needed to be beat pekka by 0.5 seconds or more which was going to be a tall order as last year I managed to pip him by 0.30 seconds

As the day went on we both set new personal best times

My previous PB was a 156.40 over 1 & 3/4 laps of the Castle Combe Circuit

The weather was perfect for a day of full send it mode !
First timed run a 156.05 a new pb with pekka posting a 156.34

Second timed run another PB 155.63 and pekka posting a 156.68

And the final timed run it was time for full send win it or bin it mode and another PB 154.73
and pekka posting a 156.21

That makes me the Bristol mx5 challenge 2022 champion 🏆🏆🏆

A huge congratulations to Phil Oliver who drove a amazing year in class A ( mx5 models na & nb ) he had perfect results taking 7 wins and sealing the class A championship two weeks ago at manor farm hill climb

A huge thank you to everyone that gives up there time to organise and make these events happen 🙏

Can’t wait for next year to roll around to find out if I can defend my title in what promises to be another eloc seasons racing.

One more sleep !!

This weekend is the final two hillclimbs for the Bristol MX5 Challenge and Bristol Two Litre Cup. Who will come out on top before the last round at Castle Combe Circuit on 8th October?

Wow what a day p1 in the Bristol MX5 Challenge - mx5challenge.co.uk and only 1.2 second’s off of fastest time of the day.

Next up is a 2 day hill climb in a few weeks down on manor farm with Bristol Motor Club
