Have you met the lady behind Vintage Wonder Ice Cream? 🍦💗

This month in Life in Brackley, we share the story behind the beautiful pink vintage ice cream van that has become a familiar sight at weddings, parties and community events across the area.

What started as a journey through grief has grown into a business dedicated to creating smiles, special memories and moments of joy. Alongside her much loved 1971 Bedford ice cream van, Gigi, owner Sammie has built something truly special for the local community ✨

From artisan ice cream and nostalgic charm to the heartwarming story behind the business, it’s a feature well worth reading.

We’re also welcoming Brackley’s new mayor, Jason Kew, sharing updates on new businesses in the heart of town, plus the latest HS2 updates for June and July, and much more!

Please join us in welcoming Brackley’s new Mayor, Cllr Jason Kew, who will be serving the town for 2026/27 👏🏻

Jason and his family have called Brackley home for many years, after first moving to the town in 2006. Since becoming a councillor in 2019, he has been passionate about supporting the local community and helping shape Brackley’s future.

Speaking about his appointment, Jason said: “It is a great honour and privilege to serve as Brackley Town Mayor for 2026/27. Brackley means a great deal to me and my family, and I am incredibly proud to represent the town over the coming year.”

We are also pleased to share that Jason will be writing a monthly Mayor’s Column in the Life in Brackley magazine, giving residents an insight into local events, community updates and life as Mayor. 🗞️

We look forward to working with Jason over the coming year and sharing his updates with you all!
