You’ll like this album !
I wanted a few changes to the cam cover of my Cosworth YB engine , and who better to speak to than Dave Lee of XYZ Fabrications . Dave & I came up with a plan and a few weeks later this masterclass of CNC machining landed on my doorstep ! . I made a few other changes too – a controversial switch from the ‘understated but cool’ black cam cover to an ‘in yer face’ bright red cam cover that’s forever linked to the infamous Cossie YB engine. I add a couple of cosmetics too with black billet covers for the coil packs and the addition of a carbon fibre cambelt cover.

April 2026 and I take the Es**rt out for a road trip to the beautiful Isle of Man. Killing 2 birds with one stone - I stay over with my friends of 20 years in Ramsey and attend some of the IOM Ford Fest '26 events laid on by Scenic Tours.
I've been visiting the IOM for the famous TT races , pretty much every year since 1997 on my sports bikes - but this was my first time taking a performance car around the (largely derestricted !) road race course - It was bloody great !

The final group of pics showing how busy I’ve been over winter ! In here I deal with the bitch of a job that resulted from a broken stud on the turbo , and end up getting the turbo sent away. I fit a funky new heat blanket to the turbo downpipe and tidy up the ugly surface rust on my brake discs. Finally a dodgy fuel tank sender snowballs into a really big job , but I end up sneaking some improvements in with the fix ! I hope you enjoy all the captions and pics in this album. Nearly 40 years ago, I was cruising the streets in my very 1st car -this Mk1 Cortina GT 😎. Look closely - I kept the gear k**b that my dad Jim bought me all these years and it now lives on in the Es**rt ☺️
