Open the box on a new Moto-Lita wheel and you'll find more than just leather and spokes. Tucked inside is the polished top ring. The piece that quietly holds it all together.

It's easy to overlook. But without it, the wheel isn't finished.

101.6mm PCD. Slot-head screws, washers, and dome nuts. Included free with every standard wheel since 1958. That's 65+ years of getting the small details right.

Whether you're finishing an E-Type restoration or refreshing the cockpit of an Austin-Healey 3000, what sits behind the boss matters just as much as the leather under your hands.

Proper hardware. Period-correct fit. No compromises. 🇬🇧

The making of a Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel

Every Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel begins with precision, patience, and passion, shaped, sanded, and varnished by hand in our Hampshire workshop.

From the first cut of aluminium to the final varnish of sapele wood, every stage is done the traditional way, ensuring your wheel not only looks beautiful, but feels perfect every time you drive.

Mary Armstrong sent us this image of a very clean and tidy MGB interior incorporating a dished, polished Moto-Lita Mk 3 with holes. Oh, and we approve of the model GT in front of the gear shift!

'Why we love...' The Ford Granada

Produced from 1972 initially in Ford factories in Cologne, Germany and Dagenham, England, production switched in 1976 entirely to Germany.

The Granada was available as a 2-door coupé, a 4-door saloon and 5-door estate and even appeared in limousine and hearse variants.

The sleeker, straighter second generation model (Mk2) was introduced in 1977, production of which continued until 1985. There was a subtle facelift in 1981 that addressed issues with drivetrain noise, vibration and harshness.

From 1985 to 1994, the third generation of Granada was produced, with the name being used in the UK and Ireland only, and sold in other European markets as the Ford Scorpio.

We love the Ford Granada for its enduring retro looks, acres of space and that it is still very visible on numerous TV shows from the 70s and 80s - who can forget the Sweeney or the Professionals?

We love Tim Johnson's lovely photo of a Moto-Lita Classic 4 with dark stained Sapele wood rim and brass rivets on a polished frame with spoke holes. It's a lovely addition to his gorgeous Morgan which looks to be prepped ready for time trials!

'Why we love...' The VW Type 2

The VW Type 2 or Transporter was originally designed as a utility vehicle but it became so much more.

Sought after and cherished by owners of all ages, the iconic Type 2 is a masterpiece of design simplicity that includes vans, camper vans, minibuses, executive buses, pick-up trucks, crew cabs and flatbeds, amongst others.

We love the Transporter for being such a great piece of conceptual design and for being able to transcend generational boundaries, political allegiances and economic class.

They are simple to maintain and cheap to run, they look uber-cool and will continue to put a smile on people's faces, well into the future.

Nick Major sent us this great shot of his MGB sporting a Moto-Lita 15" Mk3 flat, with holes. We always love the look of mid-brown Sapele wood against black hard anodised spokes and we think it really works well with the interior of Nick's B. It's actually incredibly difficult to achieve a top finish on these wheels as we have to hand sand the wood without nicking the spokes. On a standard polished wheel, any nicks can be polished out but this just goes to show the skill of our woodshop team! Great choice, Nick, and thanks for sharing your photo.
