1972 D Special - a dream come true... Sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns and jump in the deep end!

In the summer of 2015, after months, if not years, of drooling over D's on the internet, we took the plunge and purchased our first DS whilst on holiday in France. I attended the 50th anniversary celebrations in Paris in 2005, and we just happened to be in Paris again this year to enjoy the 60th anniversary celebrations! We took the decision that life is short, and there is a danger in waiting too

long for the right time to do do things, before it is too late. I set up this page as the DS is just so photogenic, and I didn't want to bombard people with photos of cars! Now I can post as many DS related posts without fear of boring people who just don't get it. If you like this page, then I guess you can appreciate the timeless beauty of this design masterpiece.

Platinum Jubilee in Paris

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the launch of the legendary DS,
200 iconic models are preparing to come from all over Europe to the André Citroën Park in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
This exceptional assembly pays tribute to an icon of the French automobile, born and manufactured on the same site.

A weekend of celebration
On the agenda:
A great gathering, an exhibition of all models and a memorable parade through the streets of the capital. Visitors will be able to admire freely and for free the 200 DS exhibited in the park, but also discover a small ephemeral museum or rare models will be presented under one of the greenhouses of the André Citroën Park.

Amongst the vehicles
The famous DS 19 Balloons from 1959, designed for an advertisement showcasing comfort and road performance thanks to its hydropneumatic suspension.
Prototype Pilot Bob Neyret
A magnificent 1961 British ID19 right hand drive.
A DS21 Pallas whose driver's side was opened in 2005 to facilitate access for visitors at several exhibitions.
A recently restored DS, a testament to the craftsmanship and passion of collectors.

Saturday, October 18th
9:00am - 11:30am: Welcoming participants at
André Citroën Park
10am: Open to the public
14h30 - 17h30 : Concours d’élégance
Presided by Henri-Jacques Citroën surrounded by a jury of personalities from the automotive, fashion and business world.
Presentation assured by Olivier de Serres.

Sunday, October 19th
8am - 11am: DS Parade in Paris
Departure in waves of 20 cars every 15 minutes, with a passage in front of the capital's emblematic monuments:
Tour Eiffel
Square of Notre-Dame Concorde
And many other historical places
And back to André Citroën Park.
2:30 pm: Awards ceremony of the Elegance Competition and closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee in the greenhouse of the park.
