FAMILY CONTINUES SEARCH FOR DOG AFTER TCH COLLISION NEAR GANDER
(Aug 21st)

UPDATE (Aug 22nd); As of 2:40 p.m; An employee from the Gander Golf Course has reported to the family that they seen the dog in the area of โ€œHole 16โ€ this morning. Search efforts continue.

UPDATE (Aug 22nd); As of 9:35 a.m; The family has confirmed that they continue to search for Reid, who went missing following a collision on the TCH west of Gander. The dog was last seen in the pole line area just east of the entrance from the TCH heading into Little Harbour. The coordinates are located below.

UPDATE: As of 9:00 p.m; Reid remains missing, with the last known location being the area mentioned previously.

UPDATE: At around 6:42 p.m; Possible last known of the dog. 48.9596948,-54.7147626

A family is asking for the help in locating their dog after a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Gander on Friday afternoon.

According to the family, the collision occurred around 2:20 p.m., just west of Gander near the Little Harbour turnoff. The dog, named Reid, ran into the woods following the collision while his owner was taken to hospital by first responders.

Reid is a three-year-old Bernadoodle weighing approximately 110 pounds. The family says he is friendly but skittish and may not approach strangers.

He was last seen in the woods on the Little Harbour side of the highway.

Anyone who may have seen Reid or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the family at 709-640-4357.
