A huge thank you to the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council and their incredible parking crew for helping keep the Saanich Fair moving this weekend! ❤️

With a record around 48,000 people joining us over the three days - and the vast majority arriving by car - managing parking is no small job. Their hardworking crew did an incredible job welcoming Fairgoers, managing the enormous flow of traffic, and helping thousands of vehicles safely and efficiently make their way in and out of the Fairgrounds each day.

We are so grateful for this important partnership and for the fantastic team who helped make a very busy Fair weekend run smoothly.

🎡 KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! 🎡

The Saanich Fair opens THIS SATURDAY! Before you head our way, here are a few things that are helpful to know before you go:

🕘 Fair Hours
Saturday: 9 am–9 pm
Sunday: 9 am–9 pm
Monday: 9 am–5 pm
🎟️ Tickets: Buy your admission tickets online in advance and have your ticket/QR code ready when you arrive, or purchase admission at the gate.
💳 Payment: Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted at the gates. Individual food and marketplace vendors may have their own payment methods, and there are no ATMs on site.
🐶 Leave your pets at home. Dogs are not permitted on the Fairgrounds and must not be left in vehicles. Certified service animals are permitted.
🎒 Bag Checks: For the safety of our guests, volunteers, exhibitors and animals, bags may be subject to random inspection upon entry.
🚗 Parking is FREE! And new this year, we've divided our parking into three zones - Orchard & Berry Patch, Animals and Harvest - with matching signs throughout each area. Take a quick photo or make a note of the sign near your vehicle. Because after a full day at the Fair, “I'm pretty sure we parked over there somewhere…” isn't much help. 😂
🚲 Coming by bike? We have a FREE bike valet service available throughout Fair weekend.
🍺 Outside alcohol is not permitted, and the Fairgrounds are smoke and vape-free throughout the property.
👶 Families with little ones will find two Infant Maintenance Tents for feeding, diaper changes or simply taking a break.
🌦️ Rain or shine, the Fair goes on! Much of the Fair is outdoors, so dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

🌻 THE HEART OF THE SAANICH FAIR ❤️

There is so much to see and do at the Saanich Fair, but at the heart of it all are the thousands of exhibits entered each year by members of our community.

Flowers and vegetables. Baking and preserves. Art, photography and needlework. Quilts and fibres. Field crops and giant pumpkins. Junior exhibits, 4-H, animals, agriculture and so much more.

And this year, entries are UP! 🎉 We have more than 6,000 entries coming into our departments this year.

Every single one represents someone in our community who grew something, raised something, baked something, made something, created something - and decided to bring it to the Fair. Thank you to every one of you who entered. ❤️ We hope even more of our visitors are encouraged by our exhibits to enter NEXT year!

But there is another enormous group of people behind all those exhibits. Our Department Convenors volunteer for months leading up to the Fair, organizing their departments, preparing classes and displays, coordinating entries and judging, and putting in countless hours to make their areas something special for Fairgoers to experience. And they are always happy to answer your questions!

And alongside them are so many volunteers who help receive entries, set up displays, assist with judging, answer questions and keep everything running throughout Fair weekend. And if you see one of them this weekend, give them a smile - they're some of the many people working hard behind the scenes who make the Fair happen. ❤️

To all of our Convenors and department volunteers: THANK YOU! The Saanich Fair simply could not happen without you. ❤️

And while you're exploring the exhibits this weekend, don't miss our History Room and Looking Back in Time displays. The History Room in particular is a really fascinating look into the history of Central Saanich and our community - and it's one of those places you can easily walk into for a quick look and end up staying much longer than you planned!

For 158 years, the Saanich Fair has been a place for our community to come together and share what we grow, raise, make, bake and create. We're so excited to see what you've brought us this year. 🌻🥕🎨🧵🐑🐴

🐴 BIG HORSES, SMALL BUT MIGHTY MINIS - AND LOTS TO SEE! 🐴

Whether you're a lifelong horse lover or just curious to see what's happening, you'll want to spend some time at the Saanich Ring this weekend!

Over all three days of the Fair, the ring will be busy with an amazing variety of horses, riders and performers.

🤠 Coastal Cowgirls
🐴 Our Small but Mighty Mini Horse Show, with driving, jumping and more
🏇 And our Main Horse Show, featuring both English and Western riding classes

And don't just watch from the sidelines! There will also be opportunities to meet and greet some of the minis and horses throughout the weekend. ❤️

Their support helps keep the Saanich Ring a busy and exciting part of Fair weekend and all year round, and we sincerely thank them for supporting the Saanich Fair and our community.

Wow. ❤️ We were absolutely blown away by the response to our final Saanich Fair ticket giveaway!

We asked you to tell us where your first stop at the Fair would be, and we loved reading your answers. So many of you shared favourite traditions, special memories, things your families do year after year, and the animals, exhibits, food and experiences you simply can't wait to see again.

The responses were so incredible and heartwarming that we decided three winners just weren't enough!

So we're giving away TEN sets of 2 one-day passes instead! 🎟️🎟️

🎉 IT’S FAIR WEEK! 🎉

After months of planning and preparation, we can finally say it - the 158th Saanich Fair opens THIS SATURDAY! 🌻🐴🎡

The Fairgrounds are a VERY busy place right now! Our staff and many, many volunteers (THANK YOU!!❤️) are hard at work setting up, preparing displays, getting buildings and grounds ready and tackling all those last-minute details that go into welcoming thousands of people through the gates on Fair weekend.

And we have lots to be excited about this year!

🌻 Our exhibit entries numbers are up from last year in several departments! We can't wait to see the flowers, produce, baking, preserves, arts, crafts and all the incredible things our community has been busy growing, making and creating.

🐴 Our Small but Mighty mini horses are ready for their big weekend, along with horse shows, animal displays and all kinds of agricultural activities throughout the Fairgrounds.

🎶 There are 21 bands and entertainers on two stages, plus the midway, Tiny Town & Kids Zone, great Fair food, our Saturday and Sunday Pancake Breakfast and LOTS more happening over the three days.

🚗 And here's something new that we hope you'll appreciate at the END of your Fair day! We've divided our parking lot into three themed areas - Orchard & Berry Patch, Animals and Harvest - with matching signs throughout the parking rows to help you remember where you left your car. Because after a full day at the Fair, “I'm pretty sure we parked over there somewhere...” isn't much help. 😂
