This truck was bought new by the current owner’s grandfather in 1935. It spent its early years hauling equipment, then took on a second career in the ‘80s pulling at the PNE, back when the truck pulls were one of the biggest draws for gearheads in BC.
Now it’s been reborn as Charlie’s Burnout Machine, a four-year build that puts more than 2,100 combined horsepower through a single rear axle.
Up front sit twin 468ci Gen 4 GM big blocks, each topped with a TBS 8-71 billet blower and a matched pair of Quick Fuel carbs.
K&S Machine designed, built, and dyno’d them, with an SCS tractor-puller coupler tying the two together. Behind them is a Hughes Performance Turbo 400 “Monster” with a 3,000 rpm stall, feeding a Strange 9” on 35-spline axles.
Underneath, a Dale Gerry Street Rods chassis carries independent front suspension and QA-1 coilovers. Custom tractor-puller zoomies finish it off.
The truck was a Top 5 finalist for the Al Slonaker Memorial Award at the 2025 Grand National Roadster Show, and it has been featured in Hot Rod, Street Rodder, and Super Chevy.
Three generations in one family, and it’s never been louder.
