Not every little brake noise means you need new brakes—but some warning signs shouldn’t be ignored.
A brief squeal after rain, snow, or sitting overnight can sometimes come from surface moisture or rust. Have your brakes inspected if you notice:
⚠️ Squealing that keeps returning
⚠️ Grinding or scraping
⚠️ A soft, spongy, or sinking brake pedal
⚠️ Shaking or pulsating while braking
⚠️ Pulling to one side
⚠️ Longer stopping distances or a brake warning light
Your brakes may still stop the vehicle while a problem is developing, but that doesn’t mean everything is okay.
If braking suddenly feels different or unsafe, don’t keep driving. Arrange a tow and have it checked. LADS Auto can help determine what’s normal—and what needs attention.
