IT SAYS 2009… BUT DOES IT LOOK 2009? 👀

This 2009 Aston Martin DB9 is approaching 20 years old.

And like any car that's actually been driven and enjoyed, it came to Car Studios showing the normal signs of age — tired paintwork, old PPF, dents, wheel imperfections and wear to the driver's leather seat.

So rather than focusing on one area, we worked through the whole car.

First came one of our favourite jobs… 😅

Removing nearly 20-year-old PPF.

Anyone who has done this before knows — sometimes it's a serious pain in the butt. 😂

Once the old film was safely removed, we could properly work on the DB9:

✨ Re-polished and refined the paintwork panel by panel
🛡️ Removed and replaced the ageing PPF
💎 Ceramic coated the entire vehicle
🪡 Repaired the torn driver's leather seat
🔨 Corrected the dents
🛞 Refreshed the wheels
✨ Finished and inspected the entire car from top to bottom

And this is the result.

🏁 WE GAVE THIS FALCON RACING STRIPES… SORT OF. 😂

This Ford Falcon came to us with paintwork that was heavily contaminated, oxidised and looking absolutely cooked.

So we decided to have a little fun with it.

We taped two straight lines down the bonnet…

Then cleaned, decontaminated, carefully sanded where required, corrected and polished everything around them.

And then came the fun part.

PEEL THE TAPE. 👀

Suddenly the Falcon had racing stripes.

Except… we didn't paint them. 😂

Those dark, dull stripes are actually the original condition of the paint.

Everything surrounding them is the SAME bonnet — just properly decontaminated, corrected and refined.

No filter.
No wrap.
No Photoshop.
Just a pretty ridiculous demonstration of what proper paint correction can achieve.

And don't worry… we didn't send the customer home with the world's dirtiest racing stripes. 😂

The remaining sections were corrected before the vehicle received its final protection.

Sometimes it's difficult to explain just how much contamination, oxidation and paint defects can change the appearance of a car.

So instead of explaining it… we thought we'd show you.

MYTH #7 — “More layers automatically means better protection.”
❌ More isn't automatically better.
✅ Coatings are engineered as systems. Correct preparation, compatibility, application and curing matter more than simply stacking layers.

MYTH #8 — 9H or 10H means the coating can't scratch.
❌ Hardness ratings do not mean your vehicle becomes scratch-proof.
✅ Paint can still be scratched or marred through poor washing, physical contact and improper maintenance.

MYTH #9 — If water stops beading, the ceramic coating is gone.
❌ Not necessarily.
Contamination, minerals, traffic film and residues can interfere with hydrophobic behaviour. Proper decontamination or maintenance may restore performance.

MYTH #10 — Ceramic coating prevents stone chips.
❌ Ceramic coating is not PPF.
✅ For meaningful physical protection against stone chips and impacts, Paint Protection Film is the appropriate solution. Ceramic coating and PPF perform different jobs.

MYTH #11 — “You should keep waxing a ceramic-coated car.”
❌ Usually unnecessary, and some waxes or shampoo-and-wax products can interfere with the coating's surface behaviour.
✅ Use maintenance products designed to work with your coating system rather than automatically putting wax over it.

MYTH 12 — One ceramic coating can be used on everything.
❌ This was one of our strongest myths.
Paint, glass, plastic, rubber, leather, wheels, polycarbonate and PPF are different substrates with different characteristics.
A coating designed for painted clear coat isn't automatically the ideal product for every other surface.
That's why professional systems have dedicated products for paint, glass, PPF, leather, fabric, trim, wheels and other materials.
You wouldn't use body lotion as hair conditioner just because they're both on your body. 😆
The same principle applies to coatings.

🔥 SECOND-HAND DOESN’T HAVE TO LOOK SECOND-HAND.

This black Mercedes-AMG A35 came to Car Studios with paintwork covered in swirls, wash marks, fine scratches and lines.

And black paint hides absolutely nothing.

Our goal?

Make it look better than the day it left the showroom.

We professionally washed and decontaminated the vehicle before carefully correcting and refining the paintwork to achieve that deep, mirror-like black finish.

Only when we were happy with the result did we protect it with our advanced CFC Carbon Nanotube Ceramic Coating — delivering incredible gloss, super-hydrophobic performance and advanced self-healing coating technology.

And we didn't forget the inside.

The entire interior was deep-cleaned, greasy marks and contamination removed, and the leather treated with CFC Leather Guard for ongoing protection.
