One of our favourite things to witness at WTAC was people standing trackside going “who’s driving that car?!” after watching some seriously impressive driving. And even better when the answer was one of the girls. 👊

Riki-lee Drift and Niamh Dillon both absolutely sent it on a fast, technical track with a LOT of eyes on them. There’s definitely some extra pressure that comes with that, and we loved seeing them drive so well and have people notice them for their driving style & skills!

And what a shot to commemorate it!! Love your work always SDB Media! Hope everyone had the best weekend ticking a pretty bloody cool one off the bucket list. We loved watching you ladies put on a show! 💖

WE LOVE SEEING MORE WOMEN ON THE WTAC STAGE! 💖

For years we loved watching women like Driftcat Catherine Coleiro, Australia’s first female pro drifter, head out at WTAC alongside the guys and just be recognised as a bloody good drifter.

That’s what we want to keep seeing. We will ALWAYS celebrate opportunities for women in drifting, but we want to see women getting those opportunities because they can bloody drive. To be taken seriously, keep progressing and eventually compete at the same level as everyone else.

Which is why we’re so excited to see two of our own SA girls, Riki-lee Drift and KJ Bell, heading over this year We’ve already been yelling pretty loudly about Riki’s achievements lately 😂 but we haven’t seen quite as much of Kahli out and about this year. She’s been busy running her business AND we hear there’s a freshly built engine ready to go! But we definitely haven’t forgotten Kahli at WTAC last year, where she showed us she has the balls to commit at FULL speed!! It can be aged between drives and she’ll jump straight back in and send it like she was out there yesterday. 💪

And of course we’ll be cheering for our NSW pal Jessica Schembri, another bloody talented driver and such a great ambassador for women in drifting. 💖

There are plenty more women getting behind the wheel across the weekend who we haven’t had the pleasure of driving with yet, but we can’t wait to cheer them on and see them in action!

If there’s anything these women prove, it’s to back yourself. Reach for what you want, ask for the opportunity, work bloody hard and see where it takes you.

Maybe one day we won’t make such a big deal about seeing girls out there at all. We’ll just see drifters. 💖

What’s better than one girl on the podium last weekend? TWO!! Big congrats to Bonnie Thomas for taking home Drifting SA Round 3 Best of the Rest! 👏

Bonnie has actually taken home this trophy before, but looking at her face up on that podium, you could tell this one seemed to hit a little differently. 🥹 And watching her drive all weekend, we could see it too. The aggression, the confidence, the commitment!! She looked so in tune with her little pocket rocket, absolutely sending that cool little Corolla around Mallala. So much levelling up!!

Bonnie’s contribution to women in drifting must be celebrated… Bonnie gave it a go when there really weren’t many other girls out there doing it, and she’s helped pave the way for so many more women to get involved since. She’s always there supporting the girls around her, encouraging them to forget the nerves and just give it a go, and helping make women feel like they belong in drifting too 💖

We don’t always get a trophy at the end of the day to tell us that other people noticed us kicking goals too, but this time she did! And this one was SO bloody deserved!! How special to finish the day sharing a podium and a beautiful Mallala sunset with another gal pal 💖

Congratulations Bonnie!! Keep backing yourself because we certainly bloody do!! 💪🏻

A HUGE congratulations to Riki-lee Drift, who made a little bit of history on Sunday by becoming the first female driver to win a round of the Drifting SA SA Drift Series since it began in 2018!! 🥹💖

And with that win, she’s now sitting at the TOP of the championship heading into the final round!! 🔥

Regardless of gender, winning a drift comp is a bloody huge achievement and Riki absolutely deserves it.

But of course, as Glitter Gang, we also know how important it is to see a woman standing at the top of that podium.

Riki has worked SO bloody hard to get here. She chases every bit of seat time she can get. She’s invested an incredible amount of time, money, blood, sweat and probably plenty of tears into becoming a better driver. Achievements and opportunities like these aren’t just handed to you. There’s been a LOT of hard work behind the scenes to get Riki to this point, and she bloody deserves to see it paying off.

We’ve watched Riki earn her place as a skilled and respected competition driver, while also inspiring more women to have a crack at competition themselves. You really can’t underestimate what it means to see another woman doing it and realise you can too.

And now she’s off to World Time Attack Challenge next week!! 🔥 Another opportunity she’s absolutely earned and we cannot WAIT to see her out there.

Huge congratulations Riki!! We are so bloody proud of you and cannot wait to see what comes next 💖💪🏻

We’ve been trying to work out how to put Saturday into words. 🫶

We could talk about it being our biggest Glitter Gang Matsuri yet. All the new faces being brave enough to give it a go. The driving that somehow keeps levelling up every year. The interstate girls who travelled over on a whim, brand new builds or backup cars included. The packed spectator hill and pits. The vibrant 80s/90s outfits and retro/BMX vibes!

But I think what was most special was that lasting FEELING. That smile that won’t leave because you’ve shared something pretty bloody special with a bunch of incredible ladies! 💖

The support & encouragement. Contagious energy. Girls helping girls they barely knew. Checking in, offering advice & “we’ve been there” moments, celebrating each other’s wins and genuinely wanting everyone around them to have an amazing day! THAT is Glitter Gang!

We can organise the track, plan the schedule, pack the goodie bags and spend an ungodly amount of time figuring out garages 😂 but we can’t manufacture that feeling... it’s created by all of you.

You turn up with kindness, an open mind & shared nerves and leave the egos behind. It becomes a safe space to be ourselves, be silly, be nervous, have a crack, stuff it up and just enjoy cars and tyre smoke together. That’s something we cherish so bloody much!!

And then there’s our little team: Hayley, Lucy, Briony, Kimi and Renae. Months of work, life happening, car dramas and stress… then Saturday happened and it was all worth it.

Briony finally smiling behind the wheel after all it took to get her car there. Hayley’s crazy retro ideas coming to life AND that 1JZ singing. Lucy putting love into all the little details and her gangster driving. Kimi, after everything she’s faced, shredding in Pinkie. And Renae, keeping all the moving parts together for us but finally getting to just drive and enjoy it too. 💖

We are very, very lucky.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to that feeling. We hope you drove home a little more in love with drifting and this community than when you arrived. Because we definitely did. 💖🫶
