Celebrating the volunteers who power motorsport
As part of National Volunteer Week, the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) proudly recognises the volunteers who play a vital role in delivering motorsport events across Australia.
Behind every race meeting is a dedicated team of Officials who ensure events run safely, efficiently, and professionally. From flag marshals trackside to race control, scrutineering, timing and communications, volunteers are the backbone of grassroots and national motorsport.
Volunteering in motorsport offers a unique opportunity to experience the sport from the inside. Officials are immersed in race operations, working closely with competitors, teams and organisers while gaining valuable skills and hands-on experience in a high-energy environment. Many begin their journey from as young as 14, progressing through a wide range of roles across their motorsport pathway.
AASA prides itself on supporting and growing this community of volunteers, ensuring they are equipped, accredited and recognised for the critical part they play in every event. Their commitment not only keeps motorsport running but also strengthens the culture, safety and future of the sport.
This National Volunteer Week, AASA extends its sincere thanks to all Officials and volunteers. Your passion, dedication and time make motorsport possible.
