Veteran Racers Association of Victoria 58th Gala Dinner. Special guest Steve Martin. Centre stage next to Bob Rosenthal’s (Laverda Jota rider Castrol 6hr 1976) 750 /4 two stoke was the incomparable 7hp Indian: winner of the first Australian GP/TT in 1914. Piloted by Harry Jenkins (Victoria) around the 33 mile circuit with newspaper reports of accidents caused by “skidding at corners, taking V-gutters too fast, and some to carelessness”. 46 entries, of which 32 started and 12 finished. Lap Record 88min 6secs!
