Stratton Service

Stratton Service Full service gas and convenience store. Your trusted supplier for all your oil change, tire and automotive repair needs.

Stratton Service has been serving the good people of Morley Township and the Rainy River District for 70 years. The JF Upton station was originally owned by John Frederick "Freddie" Upton. Upon his sudden passing in 1964, the station passed to Freddie's wife, Kari. Kari ran the station with an incredible amount of grit and determination until she sold it to Shawn McDonald in 1988 when it became St

ratton Service. Shawn ran the station until his tragic passing in 2011. The station is still owned and operated by the McDonald family under the guiding hands of Shawn's brother, Murray, and father, Ken, and our loyal friend, Mike.

While cattle can often tolerate or adapt to certain factors that reduce water quality, periodic water testing will assist with identifying those factors and indicate levels that may be problematic.

Due to high to extreme forest hazard conditions, and to reduce the number of human-caused fires, the Ministry of Natural Resources will be implementing another Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) for the Northwest Region to include zones 4, 9, 10 and 11. This expanded RFZ will come into effect Friday, May 30, at 12:01 AM local time.

Outdoor fires will be banned. Portable gas stoves may still be used BUT must be handled with extreme care. More details and a precise boundary of the RFZ in effect will be shared shortly.

The area impacted by the new RFZ is from south of the west side of St Ignace Island, west along the Canada–U.S.A. border, north along the District of Rainy River–District of Thunder Bay border, north along the English River system, east to the western boundary of the Brightsand River Provincial Park, following north to and along the boundary of Wabakimi Provincial Park, south along the eastern side of the Little Jackfish River system, to the north end of Lake Nipigon, following the western shore of Lake Nipigon south to the west side of the Nipigon River system heading south to Red Rock and along the northeast boundary of Black Bay Peninsula to the west side of St. Ignace Island.
