This is a leak. With our new pressure leak testing system we have a better way of checking consignment vans, repairs, general service vans and problem areas before they become major issues down the road. Water ingress causes major repairs, resheeting and even rebuilding entire panels.

If you have a van that you think might have a leak for even could be smelling a little damp in some areas, check in with the team. Add this onto your general service or repair.

Chassis corrosion develops slowly, underneath the van, out of sight. A caravan can look great above the floor while the structure holding it together is already compromised. It doesn’t announce itself the way a cracked panel does, which is exactly why it gets missed.

The parts most at risk: the chassis itself, awning hardware, wheel arches and any exposed steel fittings. Wind damage is actually the leading cause of awning failure, and salt corrosion is a big part of why.

A chassis check should happen at least once a year. If you’re regularly near the coast or doing beach trips, once a year isn’t enough.

The gap between prevention and repair is significant. A wash, a protective coating and a proper inspection cost very little. Structural corrosion repair, once it’s set in, is a different category of expense entirely.

If you can’t remember the last time your chassis was checked, that’s your answer.

It’s sad but happy day today as we say goodbye to our little Tay Tay who is continuing on outside of the industry in a new role in the steel industry. Taylor has been around the company with her mum Shauna since she was 12 doing all sorts of jobs and working her way up to detailing manager at the age of 18. Wise beyond her years she’s considered a little sister to all of the boys in the workshop and all of the staff in the office.

You’ll still see her in a couple of videos that we’ve been working on and she’s really been crushing her social media skills in front of the camera starting off as too nervous to even speak to be becoming a creative and hilarious personality around the dealerships.

We’re all gonna miss her, but we’ll still see her around hopefully when she pops in for a visit! Onto better and bigger things we wish her the best of luck in her career and everything in the future is gonna bring! It’s gonna be bright for sure!

If you can spare a few minutes to write a little comment for Taylor to encourage her on our future journey in a new career we would be most appreciative - she’s gone from being a kid hanging around RVS to young woman crushing life in a promising new career. ❤️🫶🏼🥰

We asked some of the boys how they would eat four soft serves at the same time. It got pretty technical including some googling to see if Neil could trademark his laugh (it makes everyone’s day) the boys with teens saw the trap a mile away but after a hard day on the tools the laugh is worth it 🤣🤙🏻👌🏻 - seeing as the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA lads are always rocking up at Elders across the road the trend was fitting 🤣😇😎

Swipe through for what actually causes it, the one free fix that solves most of it, the spot under the mattress people forget to check, and the humidity range worth aiming for.

One thing worth remembering: a musty smell or a soft patch on a wall means damp, not condensation. Most caravan insurance policies don’t cover that kind of damage, so catching it early matters.

We stock anti-condensation mats, moisture absorbers, hygrometers and seal repair kits. Ask us in store.

If something already smells musty, bring it in and we’ll check the seals before it turns into a bigger repair.
