It seems like just a few weeks since I posted pictures of the camper build but it’s more like months. This build started with a full frame build. The client prepped and painted and returned it for the panel assembly process.
Cruisemaster XT suspension, Aussie Traveller door and windows and Fiamma Awning.
Internal fit out and design to be finished by the client.

Hello All.
Been dreaming of building your own Caravan and don’t know where to start?
Between projects and evenings I have been designing an drawing plans for a 16’ van.
It will sleep 5 inside using seats as bunks and have a full outdoor kitchen.
Focus is on quality built vans with lots of storage and easy to setup.
This will be build # 1 of hopefully many.
I am posting this to see if there is any interest in a DIY build where I supply the frame and panels only.
I have ordered 2 sets of independent suspension at 2500kg and will be starting the frame build soon. I am aiming for 800 kg payload.
Message or call me if you would like to discuss options. I have other designs for this size van also which include internal shower and toilet and kitchen.
What’s your layout needs that you can’t find with the mass produced vans on the market?

Well that was a bit of an adventure getting the roof and front done in one piece. Worked out great in the end. Found out a few things that didn’t work so well and things that did.
I glued blocks in the corner with hot glue hoping to screw a bracket to hold the corner from the inside. Worked awsome in theory and test piece. Glue didn’t hold as good as hoped and they popped off under pressure. Suction handles and straps on the other hand work a treat provided it’s a clean surface.
