🔧 **QUICK TIP TUESDAY — DON'T LET YOUR TIMING BELT HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!** 😂

Your timing belt might be out of sight, but it definitely shouldn't be out of mind! 👀

It's one of those parts that quietly does its job... until it doesn't.

And trust us, that's not a surprise you want. 😬

Depending on your engine, a failed timing belt can cause some SERIOUS damage. We're talking bent valves, damaged pistons and potentially a very expensive repair bill. 💸

The tricky part?

⚠️ Timing belts don't always give you a warning before they fail.

That's why replacing them at the manufacturer's recommended interval is so important.

We've all done it...

Car starts making a mysterious noise.

**rattle...**

Turn the radio up.

**clunk...**

Radio gets louder.

**SQUEEEEEAK...**

*"I'm sure it's fine."* 👀😂

Unfortunately, strange noises usually don't fix themselves.

Your car might be trying to tell you something.

Could be brakes, belts or another moving component.

🔧 **Clunking?**
Could be suspension, steering or driveline related.

🔧 **Grinding?**
Definitely not one we'd recommend ignoring. 😬

Most of us don't give our car battery much thought...

Until you turn the key and get...

**click... click... nothing.** 😬

Hot weather can be tough on batteries, and if yours is already getting tired, summer can be when it decides it's had enough.

Some signs your battery might be struggling:

🔋 Slow or sluggish starting
💡 Lights appearing dimmer than usual
🚨 Battery warning light
⚡ Electrical issues
🚗 Needing a jump-start
👀 Visible corrosion or damage around the battery

And sometimes?

**There's very little warning at all.**

If you're planning a Christmas or summer road trip, your battery is definitely something worth thinking about before you leave.

Because nobody wants to start day one of the family holiday with:

Your engine + an Australian summer + a cooling system that isn't doing its job...

**Not a combination we recommend.** 🥵😂

Your cooling system helps regulate engine temperature, and coolant plays an important role in keeping everything operating as it should.

Before summer really heats up, keep an eye out for:

🌡️ Temperature gauge running hotter than normal
💧 Coolant level dropping
👃 Unusual sweet smells
💦 Leaks underneath the vehicle
🚨 Temperature or coolant warning lights

And please...

**Don't open a hot radiator or coolant reservoir.** Hot cooling systems can be under pressure and cause serious burns.

If your car has been running hot, losing coolant or you're simply not sure when the cooling system was last checked, let us take a look.

A cooling-system problem is much nicer to find **in the workshop than halfway through your Christmas road trip.** 😬

But Christmas has a habit of going from *“ages away”* to *“HOW IS IT NEXT WEEK?!”* remarkably quickly.
