Today we came together at morning smoko to celebrate boss Giulio Lombardi 80th birthday with our valued staff and family.

Discussion was a trip down memory lane from Giulio’s early days calling on customers to repair heavy trucks, earthmoving machinery and tractors from his ute then operating a diesel mechanic workshop in Kununoppin followed by setting up his first workshop in Durham rd Bayswater in the early 1970’s.

It was a great day celebrating Wayne Mitchell’s retirement recently and acknowledging Waynes 20 plus years working for Howard Porter and SFM Engineering. We wish Wayne all the best for retirement and hope you enjoy your caravan trips around WA.

We are pleased to announce the opening of a new workshop at 24-26 Industrial drive, Sunshine West, Melbourne on 5 January 2026. All new Howard Porter trailers and Steelbro sidelifters for Victoria and Tasmania will be delivered from this location along with scheduled servicing, repairs and spare parts.

Its been a big day of celebrations as we fairwell Vled as he begins his journey into retirement.
Vled started his apprenticeship with Howard Porter 5 January 1962 and has been with the company ever since.
63.5 years of continual service, one for the history books.
Vled was recently on 93.7FM radio as one of if not the longest serving employees in WA employed with the one company.
On behalf of all the staff, suppliers and customers of Howard Porter we wish Vled and the Pesich family all the best for the future.
