A tyre pressure placard (also called a tyre information label or tyre pressure sticker) is a label on your vehicle that tells you the correct tyre pressures for your car — both front and rear tyres, and sometimes for different load conditions (like when towing or carrying extra passengers).
Here’s what you need to know
Where to find it:
You’ll usually find the tyre pressure placard:
On the driver’s door jamb (inside edge when you open the door)
Inside the fuel filler flap, or
Occasionally in the glovebox or owner’s manual
What it shows:
The placard lists:
Recommended cold tyre pressures (usually in kPa, psi, or bar)
Tyre sizes approved for your vehicle
Sometimes load and speed ratings
Why it matters:
Using the pressures shown on the placard ensures:
Even tyre wear
Better fuel efficiency
Safer handling and braking
Reduced risk of tyre damage or blowouts

TYRE SAFETY MATTERS – STAY SAFE ON OUR ROADS
Your tyres are the only part of your car that actually touch the road — so keeping them in top condition is essential for your safety, your passengers, and everyone else on the road.
Check your tyre pressure at least once a month and before long trips – underinflated tyres can cause poor handling and increase fuel costs.
Inspect your tread depth – in Australia, the legal minimum is 1.5mm, but for better safety, replace them before they get that low.
Look for cracks, bulges, or uneven wear – these could signal dangerous issues.
Rotate your tyres regularly to help them wear evenly and last longer.
Tip for Aussie drivers: Hot summer roads and wet winter conditions can both take a toll on your tyres, so make seasonal checks part of your routine.

VEHICLE INSPECTIONS KATANNING
If your car, trailer or caravan is unregistered or has been given a defect notice, it will be subjected to a roadworthy inspection by a mechanic approved by the Department of Transport.

Here at Katanning Tyrepower we can offer these examinations onsite for all passenger vehicles, trailers and light commercial vehicles under 4.5 tonnes.

If your vehicle’s registration has lapsed, it can’t be re-registered without first being inspected by a Department of Transport authorised inspection station.

Once we have carried out an inspection, provided it meets our state’s requirements for vehicles of its type, your vehicle will be given a clean bill of health, and be allowed to be re-registered.
