The Battle of the Babies is coming, and we’re calling on all our HBGFC financial members to get amongst it! 💪

From 7–28 September 2026, we’ll be chasing juvenile Black Marlin on the Flats of Hervey Bay — targeting the future of our incredible fishery while having a bloody good time doing it! 🐟💙

One of the proudest moments of the year was recognising Doug Sanderson as an Honorary Life Member of Hervey Bay Game Fishing Club.

After an incredible 26 years of involvement with the Club, including serving as President, Doug’s commitment and contribution to HBGFC has helped shape the club we have today. Life Membership is one of our highest honours, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient.

While the trophies and points recognise some outstanding achievements, this season has been about so much more.

We’ve watched our membership grow enormously, welcomed new families and anglers into the club, seen juniors tag their first billfish, held social and educational events, shared knowledge between generations and watched our members proudly represent HBGFC at tournaments throughout Queensland.

We’ve seen experienced anglers helping newcomers, our juniors stepping up and getting involved, families fishing together and plenty of friendly competition along the way.

That is what makes this club special.
