Last weekend, I met Sumit and his friend Anil, when he first approached me for a car service. While working on his vehicle, we introduced ourselves and had a great conversation.

Sumit and his friend had recently moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast and were still settling in. Since he had only owned a car for a few months, he wasn’t fully familiar with important aspects such as car servicing, registration, Queensland number plate procedures, and licence transfer requirements.

While servicing his car, I took the opportunity to guide him through the process of regular vehicle maintenance and explained how things work here in Queensland — including registration, obtaining QLD number plates, and licence transfer. I also encouraged them to stay connected with the Nepalese community on the Gold Coast by following community pages for updates on events, job opportunities, and support networks.

It was a great interaction, and moments like this highlight the importance of supporting each other and helping new members settle into the community.

Saturdays have lately become my hustle day.
Today was another busy Saturday as Gold Coast Nepali Mechanic.
I had a few bookings lined up, and one of them was a pre-purchase inspection —
but this one felt a bit special..

This particular case involved a young student from our own Nepali community who was looking to buy his very first car.

I carried out the inspection professionally, checked the vehicle thoroughly, and provided him with an honest report — just as I would for any client. But it didn’t stop there.

He asked me to explain the paperwork and the process involved in buying a car, so I took some time to guide him through it. I even helped him communicate with the seller so he could feel more confident.

While talking, I noticed he was not fully comfortable with basic car operations. That concerned me. Even though I was in a rush, I knew he needed a bit more support.

So I asked him to follow me to a fuel station. There, I showed him how to use the fuel pump, explained the basics of insurance, and went through some essential things every driver should know.

At the very starting point of people’s journeys. Buying a car is often the first big step, and i have been part of them. And lucky to help people from Ground Zero.

At the end of the day, I felt genuinely happy and proud. Going the extra mile for someone — especially from our own community — is always worth it.

🚗 Hyundai i30 – Loss of Power & Poor Acceleration Diagnosis

Customer came in with loss of power and poor acceleration.

After thorough diagnosis, we found the issue was related to the crankshaft position sensor. The sensor was heavily contaminated with burnt and degraded engine oil, affecting its ability to read engine speed accurately.

🔧 Repairs and service carried out:
• Replaced faulty crankshaft position sensor
• Replaced spark plugs to ensure proper ignition performance
• Performed transmission oil service (old oil was extremely black and degraded)

⚠️ Burnt and dirty oil can contaminate critical sensors and affect engine performance, timing, and overall drivability.

✅ After repairs, vehicle performance restored and acceleration returned to normal.

Regular servicing is key to preventing major issues and costly repairs.

Mitsubishi Lancer – Coolant Loss Diagnosis & Repair

Customer reported continuous coolant loss, needing to top up coolant daily.
They had previously mentioned the issue during a service elsewhere, but due to workshop workload, the leak was not diagnosed.

🔍 Our Diagnostic Process:

Visual inspection of cooling system

Cooling system pressure test

⚠️ Fault Found:
Radiator tank leak causing external coolant leakage under pressure.

🛠 Repair Completed:

Faulty radiator removed

New radiator installed

Cooling system refilled and bled correctly

Pressure tested again to confirm no leaks

✅ Result:
Coolant loss resolved, engine cooling system operating as designed, and vehicle returned safe and reliable.
