Last weekend, I met Sumit and his friend Anil, when he first approached me for a car service. While working on his vehicle, we introduced ourselves and had a great conversation.
Sumit and his friend had recently moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast and were still settling in. Since he had only owned a car for a few months, he wasnβt fully familiar with important aspects such as car servicing, registration, Queensland number plate procedures, and licence transfer requirements.
While servicing his car, I took the opportunity to guide him through the process of regular vehicle maintenance and explained how things work here in Queensland β including registration, obtaining QLD number plates, and licence transfer. I also encouraged them to stay connected with the Nepalese community on the Gold Coast by following community pages for updates on events, job opportunities, and support networks.
It was a great interaction, and moments like this highlight the importance of supporting each other and helping new members settle into the community.
