The V8 79 Series is finished at the factory, but it certainly hasn't finished working.
This one came in for a clutch and tune package.
It's a DPF model, and like every V8 79 that left Toyota, it was calibrated a long way under what the engine is genuinely capable of.
So we hit it with our Stage 1:
✅ NPC 1300 Nm heavy duty clutch kit
✅ Full custom tune developed on our dyno
✅ Before and after runs to verify the result
Power → 112 kW to 162 kW at the wheels = 45% Gain
Torque → 401 Nm to 807 Nm = 100% Gain
That's not us pushing the engine somewhere it shouldn't go. It's just how conservative these were from new, which is why the results are always so consistent.
What the owner gets is the V8 they always suspected was there. It pulls harder from lower down, holds a gear on a hill without complaint, and finally drives like the engine suits the vehicle it was fitted to.
Toyota have stopped building these V8's but we will keep making them better, for as long as they keep coming through the door.
