This is a car left with us with a boost issue, we smoke tested the intake system and repaired a small leak at the sound generator, we then checked wastegate preload and the actualtor which tested Ok, we then checked the diverter valve which was also Ok, we then removed the CHRA cartridge and checked for turbine wheel condition which also checked Ok. We then removed the Catalytic converter which showed than the honeycomb matrix had failed and was blocking exhaust flow. The turbine relies on differential pressure pre turbine to post turbine so a blocked cat will choke turbo performance, just something else to look out for especially on older high mileage cars, this car was a 2011 model with 208,000 klm travelled

A car we had left with us with a boost problem, the vehicle would not make more than 7 psi boost and the owner advised that the boost had been falling away gradually over a couple of weeks, we smoke tested the vehicle and found a small boost leak at the noise generator hose and fixed that but when we dyno tested it after the smoke test it still only made 7 psi. We checked wastegate preload which was within tolerance and arm movement which was free and not binding. We then removed the turbo cartridge to check for turbine wheel damage which showed no visible damage and then checked the diverter valve diaphragm which also checked OK. We also checked the wastegate actuator diaphragm and boost actuator valve which also checked Ok. At this point we removed the Factory Dump Pipe /catalytic converter to check for possible obstructions. As you can see from the attached images the honeycomb catalytic structure has failed and has resulted in an exhaust blockage. The turbo relies on a pressure differential pre turbine to post turbine to efficiently accelerate the turbine wheel, a blockage in the exhaust flow post turbo will massively effect the turbo performance. Given that this car is 14 years old and has travelled 208000 klm's it's probably not unrealistic for the Catalytic converter to fail. If your car has lost performance, its probably another thing to look out for.

This is a car we have been working on , the final components have now been received and we are proceeding to the final flex dyno tune with the new manifold and port injectors. This package is suitable for Nissan Pulsar B17SSS, Nissan Sentra models with the MR16DDT engine and Nissan Duke Models with the MR16ddt engine This development will also carry over into our soon to be released Clio 4 RS200 and RS220 packages

Please check out our new video explaining the operation of the Factory Fuel Pump on a Megane 3 rs and why starting with a new pump rather than modifying the existing pump can yeild better results

These are some more images of the vehicle from previous dyno runs, the vehicle runs 2 oil separators, one for the PCV system between the manifold and the Rocker cover which is usually the major source of oil film in the manifold and a second for the breather hose between the rocker cover and the turbo inlet. This particular engine is a new forged engine build from JHH engine is Queensland and is of top shelf quality , we are seeing a little ethanol blow by in the oil separator behind the battery and minimal oil in the separator behind the RHS headlamp, the more we run the car and the more the engine beds in the less we see in the rhs separator tank to the point where now after 300 dyno klms we are seeing virtually none, the separator tank does see some clear fluids typical of a e85 car but no oil trace. This alcohol trace in the lhs separator tank is typical of an e85 car and is the reason why you need to use an ester pao oil if you are intending to run e85 or an ethanol blend. The separator tank behind the RHS headlamp is actually the biggest source of oil into the intake manifold as this is the PCV system for the engine. The tank behind the battery only catches oil if your engine is tired and has excessive blow by under boost.

Just a quick update on a new standalone ECU firmware package we have available. This Package is for Clio III RS and Megane II RS models, it integrates fully and allows all factory features like air cond, fan control, cruise control, speed limiter, fuel used, distance to empty, traction and esp control, push button start all without displaying any fault codes or error messages on the dash. The system also has logging ability which is useful for track day cars incl lap times. it has launch control capacity, programable traction control, rolling launch control, antilag, full throttle upshift with rev match for next gear up, blip and rev match for next gear down, Flex fuel capacity, closed loop Knock control and closed loop Fuel Mixture control, variable valve timing for the intake cam, Multiple throttle translation maps etc. This system lets you turbo your clio engine or change your megane 2 engine to meg3 spec etc to obtain VVT system control. A perfect system for those wishing to create a Meglio but not wanting to loose any of the factory features. We will have a more detailed video on our channel in the next few days showing many more of the features
