7 mistakes that quietly destroy your car (and cost you later):
1. Skipping or delaying services
It’s never by much. Just a bit overdue because life gets busy and the car still feels fine. But oil breaks down, parts wear faster, and what should’ve been routine maintenance slowly turns into damage you can’t see yet.
2. Using the wrong oil
Not all oil is created equal, especially in European engines. The wrong spec might still “work,” but it won’t protect the engine properly. Over time, that leads to more heat, more friction, and more wear.
3. Cheap filters and parts
They fit, they run, and they’re cheaper upfront. But they don’t seal, filter, or perform the same. You won’t notice it straight away — but your car does.
4. Ignoring small leaks
A small oil or coolant leak doesn’t feel urgent. But leaks never fix themselves — they only get worse. What starts small can quickly turn into overheating or engine damage.
5. Letting warning lights sit
Most people hope it’ll go away if the car still drives fine. But warning lights aren’t random — they’re early signs. Ignoring them just gives the problem time to grow.
6. Going to the wrong workshop
Not every workshop understands Euro cars. Without proper diagnostics, it turns into guesswork. That’s where money gets wasted and problems don’t get solved.
7. Thinking “it’s fine for now”
This one causes the most damage. Nothing feels urgent in the moment. But cars don’t pause problems — they keep wearing until something gives.
None of these feel like big mistakes at the time.
But they stack up.
And one day it turns into:
• Breakdowns
• Bigger repairs
• Money you didn’t plan to spend
Most of it? Preventable.
Look after it early, and it stays a good car.
Leave it too long, and it becomes an expensive one.
