This one’s a story… so buckle in. 🚛🔧

Earlier this year, this old Isuzu suffered a sudden breakdown and CJ Tech was called in to find out why.

What followed wasn’t a five-minute diagnosis.

We checked the intake system, bled and inspected the fuel system, verified engine timing, checked valve operation and tested fuel delivery.

Eventually the problem became clear — the mechanical injection pump simply wasn’t delivering enough fuel.

The truck was brought back to our workshop, where the fuel pump and injectors were removed and sent away for testing.

And the news wasn’t good.

The pump had reached the end of its service life, with significant internal wear, while the injectors were also suffering from poor fuel delivery and atomisation.

So the search began.

Repair the pump.
Replace the pump.
Replace the engine.
Find another truck.

For a while, none of the options stacked up.

Parts for a truck of this age aren’t exactly sitting on every shelf, and it genuinely started to look like this old girl might have reached the end of the road.

We were even helping our customer look at replacement trucks.

But if you know CJ Tech, you know we don’t give up easily.

Dave kept chasing leads.

Phone call after phone call. Wreckers. Old truck yards. Anyone who might know someone who had one tucked away somewhere.

Until eventually he found exactly the bloke you need in a situation like this…

The bloke who has everything sitting in the paddock. 😂

There was only one small problem.

He wasn’t exactly around the corner.

So Dave jumped in the ute and completed an approximately 1,800km round trip to collect what we needed.

Safe to say, that’s a little further than our usual parts run.

The replacement pump came home, was installed, the fuel system was primed and bled, and the old Isuzu fired back into life.

Fuel pressure restored.
Fuel delivery restored.
No leaks.
Running properly again.

And according to her owner?

She has never run this well.

That’s the bit that makes every phone call, every kilometre and every hour spent chasing the answer worthwhile.

She’s now back on the farm doing exactly what she was built to do — and hopefully she’s got plenty more years left in her yet.

We’re big believers in repairing rather than replacing when it makes sense.

So never be embarrassed to call us because your truck, tractor or machine is old.

Quite honestly, we love the challenge.

1,800km for a fuel pump… because we weren’t ready to give up on her. 🚛🔧

This old Isuzu was very nearly headed for retirement after its fuel pump reached the end of its life and replacement parts proved almost impossible to find.

But Dave kept chasing leads — until one finally paid off.

A quick 1,800km round trip later, we had what we needed. 😂

Now she’s back on the farm and, according to her owner, running better than ever.

That’s what we’re about at CJ Tech — repair rather than replace when it makes sense, and never be afraid of an old machine.

We absolutely loved being out amongst the community at Sheepvention this year — meeting so many local farmers, operators and businesses and having a good old chat about the machines that keep our region moving. 🚜🔧

We’ve been a little quieter on socials since then with the arrival of baby Cyrus, but CJ Tech certainly hasn’t been quiet. Behind the scenes, we’ve been absolutely flat out doing what we love — supporting our locals and keeping their machinery, trucks and equipment working.

And with fuel prices currently about as predictable as the lottery, the last thing you need is unnecessary travel, downtime or a machine sitting idle waiting to get into a workshop.

That’s a wrap for Sheepvention 2026! 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Site 234 to say hello, ask questions and have a chat. It was fantastic catching up with familiar faces and meeting so many new ones over the last few days.

Now it’s back to what we do best – keeping your machinery, trucks and equipment running with our mobile field service and workshop. Whether it’s servicing, diagnostics, breakdowns or repairs, the CJ Tech team is back on the road and ready to help.

The stand might be packed away, but the spanners are back to work. See you out in the field! 🔧🚜

We recently attended this Case 4230 tractor on site for a scheduled service.

While carrying out the service, we don’t just change oils and filters—we inspect the entire machine. During our checks, we identified wear in the linkage and fitted a new clevis pin and turnbuckle setup, preventing further wear and helping keep the tractor operating as it should.
