DPF delete done and dusted!😃. HINO DUTRO, BABY QUANTUM and NV350 came through with the following PAINS:
1️⃣𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿
-the engine was struggling to breathe due to excessive exhaust backpressure.
-turbo boost was limited, resulting in sluggish acceleration and poor torque output - especially NOTICEABLE on INCLINES or when LOADED.
2️⃣𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀
-the Diesel Particulate Filter(DPF) continously ATTEMPTED FORCED REGENERATION(burning off soot), which overheats the exhaust system, and CONSEQUENTLY the engine itself.
-too frequent regeneration cycles shorten the lifespan of the turbocharger and the ENGINE itself.
3️⃣𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
-the DPF warning light and engine warning light were an eyesore to the customer, worsened by limp mode activation, the vehicle was under-performing BADLY.
4️⃣𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
-the engine was now working HARDER to push exhaust gases through the CLOGGED DPF,burning more diesel than normal!
-extra diesel gets to be injected during regeneration, resulting in BAD FUEL ECONOMY.
5️⃣𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
-"post-injection" during "too much frequent" regeneration cycles caused diesel to wash down into the oil sump.
-this diluted engine oil,resulting in:
1)reduced engine lubrication.
2)increased wear on critical engine components like the crankshaft and bearings.
3)engine ceasure(knocking) kuti "ko ko ko ko, GO, zii, engine hapachina pelile😂"
6️⃣𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲
-excessive exhaust backpressure and excessive HEAT could have led to turbo and engine damage if the DPF delete had been DELAYED.
-in extreme cases, cylinder pressures rise TOO HIGH,risking the following:
1)head gasket failure.
2)piston damage.
3)engine ceasure(knocking).
7️⃣𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀
-replacing or PROFESSIONALLY cleaning the DPF is EXPENSIVE!
-a severely clogged DPF needs to be replaced by a BRAND NEW unit, costing thousands, THAT IS WHY IT IS LOGICAL JUST TO DELETE THE DPF!
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗣𝗙 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗗𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗢 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸:
-𝘁𝗵𝗲se 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲s are 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲(𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴,𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀) 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵:
1)idling.
2)short runs.
3)stop-start deliveries RESULTING in increased DPF problems as the engine doesn't get enough time and conditions to regenerate the DPF.
