It's powder time again
BEMBA KINGDOM MOURNS AS CHIEF TUNGATI PASSES ON.

The Bemba Royal Establishment has announced the death of His Royal Highness Imfumu Tungati of the Isansa Bemba Kingdom in Luwingu District, Northern Province.
The late Chief’s mortal remains will arrive in Kasama from Lusaka tomorrow morning, Sunday 14th June 2026, via Kasama Airport, before being transported immediately to Tungati in Luwingu.
In a historic shift, the Tungati throne, traditionally held by a son of the Mwamba, has recently been moved to a son of the Shimumbi. As a result, the Chief will not be buried at the Milenge Royal Grave in Kasama. Instead, a new burial site will be established within the Isansa and Lubumbu areas, with burial tentatively set for Tuesday, 16th June 2026.
