He clocked in before sunrise, same as he had for twenty years, the smell of oil and metal clinging to the air like a second skin. His hands were scarred, his back ached, and his clothes told stories no one ever asked to hear.

Most people never saw the pride behind the grime — the quiet satisfaction of bringing something broken back to life. While others passed by the shop without a thought, he stayed late, fixing a stranger’s car so a dad could get home, a mom could make her shift, or a kid could get to school. He never needed thanks; the hum of a running engine was enough.

Because for him, being a mechanic wasn’t just a job — it was proof that hard work, no matter how dirty, keeps the world moving.

As the economy continues to get tighter almost daily, and we're forced to stretch our hard-earned Rands even more wisely than before, we are left with decisions regarding our vehicle maintenance.

I hope I'm right in saying that I've built a friendship with my client base but I know that money spent on servicing or maintaining your car is a grudge purchase!

With this in mind, not servicing your car can lead to more expensive repairs down the line and often a situation of " Penny wise and pound foolish". A service isn't just an oil and filter change- if you're getting your money's worth, it's an opportunity to go over your car and pick up any other issues which may arise between service intervals. These include items such as:
Clutch adjustment
Brake condition
Oil leaks
Water leaks
Suspension check
Checking of all lights(Stop, tail, indicators etc)

It's an opportunity to plan ahead for any further maintenance needed to ensure your vehicle is reliable and safe between services.

As an example- if Brake pads are low and left until down to metal, this will damage Brake disc's resulting in a much higher repair cost.

We realize the appeal of saving a few Rands but give us a call- let's do it right! It's too late to kick yourself when it goes BANG! We're here to take the guess-work out of your vehicle maintenance!

Let's be honest, nobody really wants the cost or inconvenience of a breakdown or car repair. Tyga Auto Repairs will take the hassle and the grudge out of the experience and, unlike other workshops, leave you with money in your pocket!

Good morning to our loyal customers! We hope you have all come through the turmoil of the last two weeks safely and unaffected? To those that have been affected, myself and our team send you love, prayers and best wishes as we move forward.

We have been fighting a losing battle with Telkom since April- our landlines just stopped! For 4months we have had to divert all incoming calls to my cell as the landline isn't working! We are cancelling the line and request that anyone needing to get hold of us, do so on my or Samantha's cell phones. If I don't answer, I'm probably under a car so please leave a whatsapp message and I'll call you back.

To all our loyal customers out there, we hope you are all looking after yourselves during these times of uncertainty. This pandemic has crippled all of us, so we pray that you and your loved ones weather this storm safely in God's hand of protection.

We have been issued an Essential Services permit as we assist fuel filling stations with fuel contaminations. If you have a permit to carry out an essential service and experience car problems, we are available to assist with urgent repairs. As we cannot bring staff back until level 2, I am mobile in the event of a breakdown and can do minor emergency repairs from home. Obviously all precautions will be taken accordingly for both our and your well-being.
