This Ford Ranger 2.2D came in with one simple request — more power and more character. The owner was tired of the quiet, flat delivery and wanted the bakkie to feel alive again.

We supplied and fitted a full DeGraaf exhaust system for less than the average retail price, which opened up the sound and let the motor breathe properly. To match the new flow we loaded our Stage 2 file, and that’s where the real transformation happened. Torque is up right through the rev range so it pulls stronger from low down, overtakes easier, and tows with far less effort. The bonus? Better fuel economy while making more power — exactly what a daily Ranger should deliver.

*2.4GD6 Performance Transformation* 🔧

A Toyota 2.4GD6 arrived with a hybrid turbo already fitted but suffering from noticeable boost lag. We supplied and fitted 30% larger injectors, upgraded the intercooler, and installed aluminum boost pipes for improved flow. Finished with a Stage 2 tune delivering stronger power, minimal smoke, and minimal boost lag. The result: instant throttle response and the performance this setup should have had from the start.

*Toyota Land Cruiser LC79 4500EFI Massive Maintenance Overhaul* 🔧

This LC79 4500EFI came in for a big maintenance overhaul. Initial inspection and test drive showed nothing obvious, it ran and drove fine. But once we got it on the lift for our 80 point inspection, the real story started. We replaced a worn steering damper shock, fitted a complete trackrod set, and pressed in new front control arm bushings to tighten up the steering. Spotted a nasty oil leak between the gearbox and engine, so we pulled the gearbox and replaced the rear main seal. While it was apart we greased all the U joints and wheel bearings. For the final touch, we removed the bed seats and had them completely reupholstered. Age counter reset back to 0 — ready for another 300,000km.

*Hyundai Veloster Turbo Engine Rescue* 🔧

A Hyundai Veloster Turbo rolled in on a flatbed with a nasty misfire. Another workshop had fitted a recon engine but failed to set the engine timing correctly. Once we pulled the cylinder head, the damage was clear — intake valves on cylinder 1 and 2 were bent from piston contact ⚠️ We replaced the valves and valve guides, lapped the seats, and pressure tested the head to confirm it was sealing 100%. With timing set right and the head rebuilt, it fired up clean with zero misfire. Another save after someone else’s shortcut.

This Toyota Land Cruiser V8 arrived with a full De Graaf exhaust already installed and booked in for our Stage 2 high torque tune. After consulting with the client, we agreed to upgrade the clutch to a heavy duty Exedy unit. OEM pedal feel with more clamping power and a higher friction coefficient to handle the extra torque. Stage 2 tune loaded — delivering smooth, usable torque with minimal smoke. Perfect balance of power and drivability.

We diagnosed excessive wear from increased torque output and fitted an upgraded Exedy clutch kit to handle the extra power reliably. Now it hooks up hard with zero slip and delivers the torque to the wheels like it should.
