Mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) show that fuel price recoveries are still deep in the red for petrol and diesel, suggesting likely pain at the pumps next month.

SERVICE INTERRUPTION AT STELLENBOSCH DRIVING LICENCE TESTING CENTRE (DLTC) - Tuesday, 20 October 2026

Please be advised that the Stellenbosch Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) will experience a temporary service interruption on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, due to the installation of new Smart Enrolment Unit (SEU) devices.

The National Department of Transport and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) are rolling out these devices at driving licence testing centres nationwide to facilitate eye testing.

On the day of installation, DLTC staff will be unable to process applications for learner’s licences, driving licences and Professional Driving Permits (PrDPs).

Services are expected to resume on Thursday, 22 October 2026.

Following the installation, payments will be made directly at the same device used for eye testing. Only bank card payments will be accepted.

Stellenbosch Municipality provides these services on an agency basis on behalf of the National Department of Transport and its entities, including the RTMC.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public for their patience and understanding while these upgrades are implemented.
