The Ritchie Group
It all started back in 1947 . 71 Years later today, The Ritchie group is now the oldest family owned car dealership in South Africa.
Winston Ritchie Snr was the man who ignited the flame that would soon light up many roads across the country, and it’s still burning stronger than ever. Along with his 2 brothers Steve & Allister Ritchie, they successfully grew the business into 4 dealerships across the country: Standerton , Vryheid, Richards Bay as well as Empangeni respectively.
A 2nd generation of family members are continuing the legacy at Ritchie, as both Winston as well as Steves’ children are passionately driving the business forward. Winston Ritchies’ daughter Cindy as well as eldest son Neville are both part of the Standerton branch , whilst Steve Ritchies’ eldest son Wayne has made his mark in Richards Bay and Empangeni.
Since their humble beginnings the group has also expanded into various sectors of product franchises and services, with the addition of their Agricultural division, fuel stations, Oasis water franchise and soap & chemicals shops amongst others.
