I’m reviewing the Isuzu MU-X Onyx XT in South Africa.

This is the top-spec MU-X, giving you a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, 140 kW, 450 Nm, 4x4 capability, 7 seats, premium Onyx styling and proper adventure SUV energy.

It has the toughness Isuzu is known for, but it also comes with modern family SUV features like a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and a hands-free power tailgate.

But at around R1 million, does the MU-X Onyx XT still make sense against the Fortuner, Everest and other 7-seater SUVs?

THE NEW BMW G50 3 SERIES IS HERE. 🇩🇪🔥

BMW has officially revealed the all-new G50 3 Series - the 8th generation of one of BMW’s most iconic nameplates.

New face. New interior. New technology. And a major step into BMW’s Neue Klasse era.

The range will include the BMW 320, M350 xDrive and the fully electric BMW i3.

And the M350 xDrive? 326 kW. 580 Nm. 0–100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. 😳

South Africa is set to get the new G50 3 Series in Q1 2027.

But the big question… what do you think of the new G50? 👀

The Jetour payload story has an update.

After the concerns around the payload figures of the Jetour T1 and T2, Jetour South Africa has now clarified how the original and revised figures were calculated.

When the T-Series launched in South Africa, the payload was calculated using:

GVM − MIRO

Jetour says MIRO includes the vehicle in running condition, including operating fluids, fuel and a driver.

The company later identified that this wasn’t the calculation method commonly used by OEMs in South Africa. The payload was therefore recalculated using:

GVM − Tare

Tare excludes the driver and uses a specified 10 litres of fuel.

Jetour says the revised figures have also been supported by an independent TÜV Nord braking performance and brake-efficiency assessment based on the vehicles’ GVM and tare weights. (Road Safety Blog)

So what does this mean for owners?

The payload figures have been revised, and Jetour says the updated figures are the correct ones based on the South African calculation method.

The important thing is that owners know exactly what they can legally carry — passengers, luggage and cargo included.

I’m reviewing the new Mitsubishi Destinator in South Africa.

This is Mitsubishi’s new 7-seater family SUV, and it sits in a very interesting price bracket for buyers who need space, practicality and features without jumping into much more expensive SUV territory.

The top-spec Exceed gives you a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, 120 kW, 250 Nm, 7 seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, Yamaha premium sound and a strong warranty/service plan package.

But does the Mitsubishi Destinator offer proper family SUV value?
