We have seen a massive increase vehicle tyre theft during the night over the past few weeks. These incident have been reported in other areas and are not limited to Weltevredenpark and Randpark Ridge.

Criminals target houses with low walls or where they can access the property with ease. It generally happens in he early hours of the morning. Video footage that has been provided to us shows that they are not on foot and have a car that assists them to get away with the loot.

We want to encourage residents to take precautions if their vehicles are parked outside in eyes view from the road. Where possible install wheel lock nuts to make it more difficult for these criminals to remove your tyres. If you have beams outside, then please make sure its armed.

We have notified all security companies and we are working closely with them.

Please make sure that all cases are reported to SAPS.
