🛢️ How to Check Your Engine Oil in 60 Seconds

Checking your engine oil only takes a minute—and it could save you from a very expensive repair.

Here's how:

1️⃣ Make sure your engine is cold (or has been switched off for at least 10–15 minutes) and parked on a level surface.
2️⃣ Pull out the dipstick.
3️⃣ Wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel.
4️⃣ Push it all the way back in.
5️⃣ Pull it out again and check the oil level.

What should you look for?

🟢 Healthy oil: Clean amber or light brown in colour and between the MIN and MAX marks.
🟤 Dark brown or black oil: Usually means it's time for a service. Engine oil naturally darkens as it collects contaminants and does its job protecting your engine.
⚠️ Low oil level: Running low on oil can lead to increased engine wear and, in severe cases, major engine damage.
